Donald Trump's Labels Often State 'Made in China'
Source: ABC News

In exploring a run for president Donald Trump has repeatedly accused China of taking manufacturing jobs from the U.S., saying the problem with our country is that we don't make anything anymore.

But an array of Trump-branded products from ties, dress shirts and other clothing in the Donald J. Trump Signature Collection, to hats, stuffed animals, cufflinks and tie clips are stamped "Made in China."

-snip-

"When it comes to manufacturing, China is making all these products. They could be made in North Carolina. They could be made in Alabama. They could be made in lots of our places and right now they're not," he told CNN earlier this year. -
At the same time Trump was speaking, his Trump Store was contributing to the growth of Chinese manufacturing at the expense of American jobs, selling $80 Trump-branded cotton sweaters and $70 Trump-branded warm-up tops, all made in China. Also available with the made in China tag: golf hats stamped with the Trump crest and Trump teddy bears.

1. This is great! (see msg) Esp tragic considering what the mark-up on his stuff must be!
I would be more sympathetic if the mark-up was small, as it is with electronics.

But the fact is that the ONLY POSSIBLE "answer" to this is that he'll say he wants us to be more competitive, and THERE IT IS, because there's only ONE WAY they can get that - LOWER WAGES.

So this is GREAT - there's the chance that the issue can be turned around to WAGES and not just "jobs" because the Republican mantra is "jobs" - three jobs for everyone!

2. Trump won't worry about this for a second...
Trump is happy to "lend" his name to other business ventures. several people have sued him over financial losses from "Trump"-branded properties, and have never won a penny.

5. Very odd, since Trump said: "China is raping this country!" ...
That The Donald has no problem selling products made by people he says are "Raping" us.

Edited on Thu Apr-28-11 08:53 AM by groundloop
I can't believe how hollow that guy is. I hope his ego overcomes what little common sense he has and decides to run as an independant after the mainstream Publicans won't give him their nomination.

"This design is right off the red carpet and perfect for any event when you want to catch all eyes the minute you walk into a room. You can choose from two of my favorite diamond colors for the simulated accent stone, yellow or pink. The elongated oval simulated diamond is very flattering and comfortable on your finger. The colored crystals stones surrounding the simulated diamond give the ring just the right amount of color. Everyone will be gazing at the beautiful bling on your finger when you wear this stunning cocktail ring."

— Melania Trump

Their jaws will drop--all the way to the floor--as soon as the party guests spy this magnificent ring on your finger. A giant oval-shaped simulated diamond gleams from the center, while small, round, colored crystals circle the outside. From Melania(R) Timepieces & Fashion Jewelry.

29. really? "box, pouch, romance card" .... WTF is she hawking - gifts 'r us @ Pukes'Mart?
'Melania' sounds like she's made from the same stuff they've been putting in Chinese baby formula: melamine or something;
one of those far eastern wind-up robot wives they sell at Bergdorf-Goodman's Beijing & Tiffany's Tokyo.

figures. no female, human or otherwise, could endure more than a few seconds of the hairy topper's ass-rants.

11. I have a theory
I have a theory that every single modern day repig is a descendant of an unholy genetic experiment to make the Grifter Gene the main driver of human behavior.

15. I like your theory....
now we need to come up with an 'antidote' to this gene...or a process by which those who have it are extinguished....like the Witch in 'The Wizard of Oz' was extinguished with water: "I'M MELTING!"

Maybe if we held up mirrors for them to see their image, they would melt???

Edited on Thu Apr-28-11 10:36 AM by bongbong
Facts usually make the repigs melt, but they have mastered the next step: yelling "You're lying!" so much to the facts that everything gets jumbled up in a mess of False Equivalence.

22. Freud believed it the other way around. Modern day analysis supports it in a way.
That people still carry that avaricious nature in our primitive brains, and that being raised with caring, compassion, and just enough frustration so we have to realize we're human and that other humans deserve our empathy and not just to be eaten up or beaten down creates civilized people and a happy society. Some people manage to evade that, or are traumatized or allowed to continue to believe they're better than human, and the "Grifter Gene" (great term) goes on unabated.

You see it in both forms nowadays, I think. Ayn Rand was traumatized and used her screaming narcissism as a defense, and Trump was raised believing he's not subject to the same rules and conditions that ordinary humans are.

that whole "serpent in the garden of eden" myth, was probably an allegory for ancient republicans & their venomous, cold-blooded, snake-brain mentality. unless it was a prophetic forewarning of donald trump's hairpiece.

17. The A-holes are the
dumb fooks who buy this crap. I stopped buying China in 1989...there are only a few items that I HAVE to buy that are manufactured in China.

The profit margins on the clothes/jewelry made in China is OUTRAGEOUS. I won't give the Corporations nor the asses my money for such crap. Why would anyone want someone's name on their clothes. I've never understood that particular stupidity of the sheeple.

Stupid little polo ponies and alligators on shirts.

I did see a shirt w/ two alligators fornicating on a tee shirt and I approved of that one.

Does Combover sell his crap at Macy's? I think I remember that...haven't been in Macy's for years.

26. Why don't the pukes just admit they want their slavery back?
They want the profits. They do not want environmental or safety controls that keep their buying public and manufacturing employees safe and productive. They really would rather they just get disposed of with no repercussions to the bottom line by some annoying damned law.

They honestly care about how much money they can put in their own pockets today, and very much at the expense of their own children's future.

Why can't they just admit it? They worship money.
