GOP pivots on ‘birther’ questions, blames Obama for media attention
Source: Washington Post

Republican leaders on Thursday slammed President Obama’s release of his detailed birth certificate as a distraction from the nation’s real concerns and attempted to point the finger at him for bringing heightened media attention to it.

“We’re borrowing four and half billion dollars a day and this president is more worried about birth certificates, Oprah Winfrey and fundraisers at the Waldorf Astoria,” Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Preibus said on “CNN Newsroom,” referring to Obama’s decision to release his long-form birth certificate before flying to Chicago for an interview with Winfrey and later to New York for a fundraiser. “It’s maddening and I just wish the president would engage in the real issues that are affecting America.”

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, who is exploring a run for president in 2012, tweeted: “What President Obama should really be releasing is a jobs plan.”

Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor, sent out this message to her followers Wednesday: “Media: admit it, Trump forced the issue. Now, don’t let the WH distract you w/the birth crt from what Bernanke says today. Stay focused, eh?”

Of course, WaPo neglects the truth, and fails to point out that Republican claims that President Obama is the source of the birther BS is hogwash. Yet, in this new media, where journalism consists of simply presenting right wing factual contention and the truth as a mere difference of opinion, the Republican lies continue to be spread. Once again, we see that journalism is dead. Instead, we get propaganda disguised as journalism.

Does the sun shine during the day?

Here is one pundit that says yes. Here is another that says that daylight comes from the moon. Fair and balanced, indeed.

4. Rove created this "talking point" yesterday.
At first blush, he seem to be saying it was a waste of time and energy on the part of the right, but his last sentence added that, "Obama just milked it."

Nice try....

15. Accusing your enemy of behavior in which you've engaged--maybe even invented--is Rove's specialty.
I don't know if he invented it or borrowed it from some other evil turd, like Stalin or Rove's role model Lee Atwater or whomever.

Accusing your enemy of behavior in which you've engaged--maybe even invented--is a subset of the Big Lie.

What's the defense? "You did it first?" "You did it worse?" "I'm not the one who did that--you are?"

Hard to ome up with a defense that does not sound like the response of an impotent, but annoyingly whiny four year old.

5. GOP you guys are fucking lame. This has been a non-issue untill troll haired trump started farting

8. Doc Daneeka was adamant.
"What makes you so certain Major Major is a communist?"

"Well, you never heard him denying it until we start accusing him, did you? And he won't sign any of our loyalty oaths."

"But you're not letting him sign any."

"Of course not," Captain Black explained. "That would defeat the whole purpose of our crusade."

9. They're really going THAT route?!
Of course they must have obviously forgot that many of THEM ARE birthers. They have politicians amongst them who are birthers. And look how funny, the party that bankrupted the Nation suddenly concerned about deficits. Reince Priebus, a name only George Lucas could love.

14. The usual Republican circus
They feed off the birthers and chide Obama for not releasing his birth certificate, and then
froth at the mouth in rage when he finally releases his birth certificate.

If Obama were to single-handedly end world hunger overnight, they would rant about how Obama
has depressed agriculture by weakening upward price pressure on their products.

If Obama were to sindle-handedly cure cancer overnight, Republicans would scream about how he
was taking money out of the pockets of the medical profession and endangering large pharmaceutical
companies' bottom lines.

16. Pres. Obama does need to take responsibility.
If he hadn't gone and gotten himself born, none of this would ever have happened. Oh, sure, you could say his parents share his guilt, but, really, it's mostly his fault.

17. They expect us to believe the President is obligated to lead in everything?
If Congress has absolutely no responsibility for any of the many things they would lay at his doorstep, they should simply say so, then allow the WH to present bills for unanimous passage.

No matter what he puts forward, it's going to be slammed by the Republicons. Where is Boner's plan for jobs, jobs, jobs? U.S. jobs, not outsourcing to China, India, Honduras, Nicaragua, Haiti, El Salvador, Vietnam, The Pacific Islands, etc....

The constant attempts to set him up for criticism by abdicating their own responsibilities are getting really old, and not just for Democrats.

Only if it works in THEIR favor, remember.

24. Thats awesome, for some reason, as soon as I was done reading the article,
Bugs was the first thing that popped into my head too.
specifically, that very wry look that Bugs always had when he KNEW he was dealing with unmitigated stoopid, but wasn't NEARLY done proving it yet.
thanks for that, nice to know I'm not the only one lol=)

22. "I just wish the president would engage in the real issues that are affecting America.”
You only say that because the "real issue" affecting the hell out of this country right now is the idiots inside your own party. If I get MY wish, then you will ALSO get yours, and you will KNOW what it feels like to be truly attacked by someone better qualified to play this most serious of games than you and yours will EVER be.

...and it was the REPUBLICANS who got control of the House on the idea that there were jobs to be had, so I would think that you should be questioning MR. SPEAKER about that, SHOULD'NT YOU, you know-nothing fool.

in summation...
I Double-Dog dare you to do what I want...
OK Done.
Why are you playing kids games?????

there is a time for scalpels. These people require a sledgehammer to the sides of their collective head.
Peace
=)
