Counter Clinton library gets tax break
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 09:42 PM by JoFerret

<<A group dedicated to building the 'Counter Clinton Library' - a rebuttal to the Clinton Presidential Library - has been granted status as a tax-exempt nonprofit organization.

The move could help the group with fund-raising but also requires it to be more public about its supporters.

Counterlibe Corp. of Washington, D.C., received word this month from the IRS that it had received the tax-exempt status to pursue its goal of responding to what it sees as ``propaganda'' planned for the official $160 million presidential library, which is scheduled to open Nov. 18 in Little Rock.

To keep its tax exemption, the Counter Clinton Library must fulfill its plans of building bricks-and-mortar museums in Little Rock and Washington displaying what it promises will be documented negatives from Bill Clinton's eight years in the White House.

Skip Rutherford, president of the nonprofit foundation building the presidential library, said the group has the right to do what it wants. >>

They will reap the whirlwind.

5. Skip Rutherford is head of the
real Clinton Library. The person who has tried to raise money and build the Clinton anti-library is Lee Boutilier??? and real nut case. He was on C-Span some time back and you could tell he was a wind bag - he sat there and lied like they already had property purchased and were well on their way and they intended to build in LR and DC - he started this fund drive and long timee ago but don't think he was able to raise much money. Rutherford in LR pretty much said "drop dead" - "have at it", etc.,etc.

7. Is this the creep?
I found it in google, in a NewsMax article!

John LeBoutillier, a NewsMax.com pundit, is a former U.S. Congressman and a nationally recognized political commentator. Mr. LeBoutillier rose to national prominence in 1974 when, as a college student at Harvard, he raised over a quarter million dollars for a former Republican challenger against South Dakota Senator George McGovern.
Mr. LeBoutillier's efforts caught the notice of President Ford's re-election campaign and in 1976 he was appointed regional coordinator, responsible for all field activities in New Jersey.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College, Mr. LeBoutillier completed a master's degree at Harvard Business School.

Mr. LeBoutillier has been a prolific writer, beginning with his best-selling book Harvard Hates America (October 1978). Later he authored Vietnam Now (September 1989) and co-authored Primary, a novel (September 1979). He has contributed to many major newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, The New York Post and The Wall Street Journal, among others.
(snip/...)

And THEY are the ones with appalling politicians. Go figure! I guess "the best defense is a good offense" claim goes here.

9. You are correct - I should have said "Lee" - but again it was reported he
has no funds in the 501c- beyond the $1000 he dropped in.

13. Well, that'll probably be enough
to build a hut to house all of the "documented negatives from Bill Clinton's eight years in the White House."

8. Cool!!
Now I can get that non profit status for my Ronald Reagan/ Joan Quigley Library, where I can have the daily PDB's Quigley gave to the President as his Secretary of the Stars, all the daily horoscopes and chart readings and how they should determine national policy. How can you really understand Reagan's Administration without them!!

10. This shows the deepness of these people's hatered. It is dangerous
for people like this to have so much power and money. Who would waste money like this while there is so much need in our country? Only the most evil.

12. So where is the counter-Reagan library, counter-Bush Sr library?
That's right they don't exist for one good reason - repukes have controlled this country for decades and must find a way to make Clinton look bad - even if that means making shit up and calling it truth. They must perpetuate the myth that Republicans are good leaders of government, and Democrats are nothing but inept and immoral.

How much longer can America put up with this cancerous growth we call Republicans?

14. Liberals don't fight hard enough
We could have an anti-Reagan library, but we won't because Democrats are too chicken and we don't seem to have the motivation to fight like the right does.

We are our own worse enemy much of the time.

They fight, we try to be nice.

We are channelling our anger to defeat these assholes.

Hatred this deep is a sickness, not to mention a huge waste of time and money.

17. nobody will care that much
nobody will come to visit it. as opposed to the Clinton Library where people will come all over the world to visit it. This project is not self-sustaining.

27. Nevertheless...
The gall of these people should not go unnoticed by the Clintons.

SNL easily puts the neocons in the context they deserve; vicious, radical dangerous people, who should be living in a cage/cave.

18. Now all they have to do is buy the land.
And let me be the first Arkie to wish them lots of luck in getting a parcel that's within five miles of the Clinton Library. Another insidious thing that the Clenis has done to ruin this country is to drive up property values in Little Rock's River Market area with that Library.

Now of course there will be some ignorant and barefoot hillbilly who will be perfectly willing to sell these fools some land at a "fair" price. And it will turn out to be fine land-- after it's drained and raised via fill dirt above the 100-year flood level of the Arkansas River.

This is such a scam!

19. I thought I had seen it all until now.
The obsession with smearing Clinton has now become a symptom of mental illness. There is something terribly wrong with these people. We should be spending money to get them counseling instead of giving them tax breaks to promote their insanity.

There's no comparison in the quality and intelligence of Democratic politicians vs. Republican.

They hate Democrats for their mental health!

but no other presidential libraries fall into that category? It'll be interesting to see who's willing to support this knowing their names could be made public.

25. ATTENTION MICHAEL MOORE!!
I think that Flint, MI would be an ideal location for the Counter-Reagan Library. You could have an exhibit on the auto industry that existed in your hometown before conservative economic policies started shipping those jobs to Mexico.

You know you want to do it, Michael. Let out your inner curator!
