Barney Frank's Niece Murdered

BOSTON -- Tragedy has struck the family of Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank whose niece was found murdered in her Virginia home Monday.

A baby sitter returning to the Lewis household with the couple's 3-year old son said she discovered Lewis unconscious on the floor and Lewis' husband, James Powell, with stab wounds.

Officials rushed Lewis to the hospital, where she later died. Powell was treated at the hospital for what police have described as self-inflicted stab wounds to his arms.

Lewis, 41, is the daughter of Ann Lewis, a Democratic National Committee official, and niece to Frank.

This is a parent's worst nightmare -- but what can you do, in the sense that your child will choose which relationships to stay in and which to exit. I just hope that I teach my daughter before she gets into such a relationship what the signs are -- before. If I read it correctly, the husband was the one who likely killed her. God bless -- the family needs a victim-of-violent-crime support group now!

How horrible for this young mother and her family. I love Ann Lewis. You could not ask for a better spokesperson for progressive values on television. She defended Clinton all during the years of attacks he endured, and has been active recently too. She'd really great; my heart goes out to her.

19. My Prayers to them all. Barney Frank is a great crusader for

the American people. I have sat many times and admired his speeches, been impassioned because of his service to all.
I love Ann Lewis. Remember her from the Cllinton days. She's beautiful!
