CIA says voice on tape likely bin Laden

CAIRO, Egypt-- The CIA said Thursday that a tape of a man identifying himself as Osama bin Laden probably is an authentic recording of the al-Qaida leader.

In the tape, the speaker offered a "truce" to European countries that do not attack Muslims, saying it would begin when their soldiers leave Islamic nations, according to a recording broadcast Thursday on Arab satellite networks.

A CIA official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the agency conducted a technical analysis of the recording and concluded it is probably authentic. The official said the tape was likely recorded in the past several weeks because of its reference to the Israeli assassination of Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin last month.

Osama is most likely in Indonesia. The CIA,almost two years ago, speculated that he left and got a boat ride. With $30 Million and he not being stupid, one would reasonably deduce that he wouldn't stay in Afghanistan or Pakistan where the search for him is intense.

10. A lot of people believe Usama Bin Laden is

an asset to Bush. They feel that whenever people get a little too comfortable, or if there is some election, then he pulls The Ogre out of the closet and scares the Bejeezus out of everyone, and they shape up very quickly. The tapes "appear" out of nowhere, and are promptly turned over to the authorities, and voila, there is Osama again.

Osama has become a shadowy figure that nobody thinks about, until he "appears" again to remind us all that he still poses a threat.

There is a lot of speculation: how can he possibly be alive, with his kidney problems? And why hasn't the US caught him yet.

I'm going to take the opposite tack and say that Osama is a huge liability to Bush. George knows that he can never say that he has won the "war on terror" until he has disposed of Osama.

He has made the US look like fools: not the most powerful & sophisticated military can catch a seriously ill man who hides out in caves. He continues to inspire millions of young muslims who want to emulate him.

Osama has insulted Bush more than once, calling him "a stupid leader".

This man is Bush's nemesis.
