Six Moldovan 'uranium smugglers' arrested
Source: BBC

Moldovan police have arrested six people suspected of trying to sell a type of uranium that can be used in nuclear weapons.

Those held wanted to sell more than 1kg (2.2lb) of uranium-235 with a value of at least $20m (14m euros; £12m), an official said.

The were conflicting reports as to whether the men were accused of trying to sell the uranium to an African country, or to an African national.

Four of the suspects are Moldovan.

Glad we don't have Bu**sh** in charge of US nuclear security anymore -- under Obama, there has been a much more conscientious effort to keep fissiles out of the hands of terrorists and criminals:

3. If it were uranium ore, perhaps.
I don't know about the Ukraine, or internationally, but here in the US you can buy uranium ore over the internet.

However, purified, enriched uranium is a different story. At an estimated value of $20 million for a kilo, it had to be highly enriched. Regular uranium is worth about $100 per pound currently on the world market.
