Heat wave spreads into the Northeast
Source: CNN

(CNN) -- A dangerous heat wave slowly began to ease in the nation's heartland even as it spread into the Northeast, the National Weather Service said.

Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia were under heat advisories early Tuesday.

Excessive heat warnings are in place from western Oklahoma to Connecticut, and from the Deep South to the Ohio Valley.

In these areas, the heat index, or how hot the body feels due to the combined effects of heat and humidity, will reach between 110 and 115 degrees this week.

1. Funny, just checked the weather reports, no severe weather warnings,...
...it's going to be in eighties here in Connecticut. Warm, but nothing unusual for a summer day.

2. supposed to hit 81 here
with t-storms. It's been a crappy rainy summer so far, with the exception of the past week or so. Last year, summer started in April and didn't stop. We installed the AC in April/May last year. This year it didn't go in until July 4th.

5. storm
We had a wicked fast storm come thru Indiana yesterday at about 10:30 and knock out power for ~ 20,000. Still not back up and it's gonna get to 90 today....

These storms are getting weird. This came out of nowhere, 60 MPH winds with gusts to 80MPH.

6. It's hot here.
Yesterday's dewpoint was 71. It's already 80 degrees and soupy today. The local weather guy calls it air you can wear.

The temperature's rising, it isn't surprising, she certainly can can-can.
