Man with racist signs arrested after gunfire

An east Tuscaloosa man who had posted racially offensive signs and, neighbors say, long terrorized black residents was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly firing a shotgun twice but missing a neighbor.

Billy Ray White, 62, was taken into custody at about 3:30 p.m.

White was charged with attempted murder and was being held on $50,000 bond, according to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office jail database. He also had a $1,000 bond set for a reckless endangerment charge and a $15,000 bond set for a charge of shooting into an occupied automobile or building.

Eddie Eatmon, who lives next door to White, said he witnessed the altercation. He said it was the second time in three days that White had drawn a gun on someone in the neighborhood.

From the article, this is what he did to the other black neighbor who's been dealing with him for a couple of years.

"Eatmon said he ran for the cover of his home as White pursued him, still pointing the gun and yelling racial slurs.

“He pointed it in my face and at one point got within 20 feet of me and was saying ‘I got something for you now, n-----,’ ”
Eatmon said. “He told me ‘I can kill you, and they won’t do a thing about it because I’m bipolar.’ ”"

Do people really believe this? I hope I'm not mistaken in believing that White's perception is totally false. Or does it just assault my senses and make me want to believe it's false.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a gun owner and lover, but people like this shouldn't have ready access to weapons. I hate to say that because I would die if I were misdiagnosed for some psych disorder and somebody came to take away my family heirlooms made by my gunsmith grandfather. Seriously though, this guy is a menace.

This guy was a serious loose cannon. Seems more like a KKK kind of guy. Even at that we cannot assume he is a Democrat. Whatever he is, at least he's in custody, although probably not for long enough.
