(Jay)Nixon to let new abortion restrictions become law
Source: KC Star

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said Thursday he’ll allow new abortion restrictions to become law in the state without his signature.

The restrictions – passed in the General Assembly by veto-proof margins – would make it tougher to obtain abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

“It’s going to become law,” he said. “I just feel this is the best way…the most important thing ultimately is to prevent (abortions), and the best way to do that is focus on women’s health issues and many other things in that area.”

8. ugh!
grrrrr I can understand the politics of it, though. I think there are probably enough votes to override a veto. There are a lot of "pro-life" Democrats in MO. The ones who are vulnerable over abortion won't have to deal with having a Dem governor who supported "baby killing." I hate it, but from a political perspective I don't think he had much choice.
