2. Perhaps so. From what I learned from a Dallas friend on section 8
apts hard to find that accept the vouchers except in neighborhoods that frankly someone on SSDI who's so frail and in constant pain/ wishes like anything she could get apt. near friends... if an apt. complex takes 2 sec8 tenants, it's hard to get there and be first- especially for ppl not in her situation- where they're working 2 and 3 jobs and raising kids...

3. Population: 2,412,827
Ten percent of that is 241,267.
One percent of that is 24,126.
This is less than a tenth of 1 percent.

5. unbelievable....
"Health officials said they processed 4,000 to 5,000 applicants on Thursday morning, adding that as many as 15,000 could ask to be put on a list with only 3,800 vouchers available over the next few years."

....now explain to me how we're not in the midst of another Great Depression....

6. And here's the Sec. 8 situation in Austin
There are millions of low-income people who could qualify for "Section 8" but can't get this vital rent subsidy because the U.S.A. prefers to spend its money on war.
