GOP threatens to bolt on McConnell’s plan
Source: Politico

House Speaker John Boehner could face a revolt if he follows Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s lead in trying to give the president the power to lift the debt ceiling.

House Republicans spit on McConnell’s proposal Thursday, even as Boehner refused to dismiss the idea.

“I would say, ‘No way,’” said Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, chairman of the conservative Republican Study Committee, whose members constitute roughly three-quarters of the House GOP.

“Everybody I’ve talked to over here says, ‘No way,’” said Florida Rep. Tom Rooney, a member of the vote-counting whip team.

I guess some House Republicans are continue their march to anarchy as well as the recent trend of undercutting their alleged leaders by now attacking Mitch McConnell. Of course, the corporate media tries to engage in false equivalence by suggesting that Democrats are being just as unreasonable by insisting on the repeal of just some tax cuts, but the truth of the matter is that some Republicans are loudly demanding that the Nation default while no Democrat is making such a demand.

The hidden truth is that Republicans are proudly, economically illiterate. They loudly denounce warnings that social security checks will not go out if there is a default while also threatening impeachment if President Obama goes over the debt limit. Nevermind that their positions are inherently inconsistent. Well, McConnell discovers that he can also be on the receiving end of Republican stupidity.

Sadly, some Republicans honestly believe that they are completely unaccountable. They honestly believe that if they drive the nation into default, only Democrats will be held responsible, thus they can in a childish manner with impunity.

The Republican leadership is to blame by pandering to such idiocy by pumping a No New Tax Constitutional Amendment while also trying to pass McConnell's surrender proposal.

3. I think it is time to get them some black outfits--you know like
Anarchists who always show up at marches, and
in Europe act up at Protests and are always
trying to turn things into Riots.

Anarchy is Libertarianism taken to its extreme.

5. You should read what Anarchy actually is -
chomsky gave a great account of it - basically anarchy is merely questioning authority.

If you question the absolute authority of your governance - this is anarchy, self determination is anarchy, group consensus is anarchy. The only thing which is not anarchy is accepting your governance without question.

7. I question Chomsky's authority to so define "anarchy."
Merriam Webster sure doesn't and they do the actual work to find out how people use words.

The definition of a word reflects how people use a word. Definitions change as usage changes. I don't think many people today think of anarchy as merely questioning authority. I'm not sure many people ever did.

11. anarchists hate governement because it oppresses the poor
libertarians hate government because it restrains the wealthy, and prevents them from more effectively oppressing the poor

There is a large moral difference between Ayn Rand and Peter Kropotkin

8. They're the same, just the style is different. They play two sides of the GOP. No real difference.

9. Think the GOP is having their "oh crap" moment yet?
I do. I think the mainstream Republicans who just wanted to needle and saber rattle are finally realizing that about 1/3 of their party (now know as the teabaggers) are bonafide loony toons. Buyer's Remorse is beginning to set it.
