Herman Cain Supports Banning Mosques
Source: Newscore

NewsCore) - WASHINGTON -- Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain on Sunday defended his opposition to a new mosque in Tennessee, expressing concern about Shariah law and declaring that Americans "have the right" to ban mosques in their communities.

Cain, who stirred controversy this year by saying he would be uncomfortable appointing a Muslim to his cabinet if elected, first expressed concern Thursday about the controversial mosque in Murfreesboro, Tenn. That mosque has been the subject of demonstrations and legal challenges in the wake of the controversy over the so-called "Ground Zero mosque" in New York City.

Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Cain said he came out against the Tennessee mosque after talking to members of that community. He said the site is "hallowed ground" to Murfreesboro residents and that they're concerned about "the intentions of trying to get Shariah law" -- the code governing conduct in Islamic societies.

"It's not just a mosque for religious purposes. This is what the people are objecting to," he said

2. Yah? Well a lot of the churches in Tennessee are not just
churches for religious purposes either. So? Republicans think it's OK for churches to be active politically. Why not mosques, too, eh?

Freaking bigoted cretins!

3. Fortunately Cain will never be president of the US.
Maybe he should read the Constitution of the US and learn about freedom of religion.

16. He did.He didn't see anything about allowing mooslums to have Mosques
He is probably one of those idiots that thinks the 'separation of church and state' means to keep the government out of religion, but religion can be in government.

Education means lying to get things the way you want them.

20. You DID?
Did anyone really think he had a shot?? This guy is going to be little more than a asterisk in a dusty ole history book one of these days (if at all). Not even worth discussing.

BTW, love your pic of The Band.

5. Can you imagine the outrage if Obama
suggested banning synagogues in the US? If he said "It's not just a synagogue for religious purposes" or other such crap.

As if all Christian churches have been only for religion since Roe v. Wade anyway.

Mess with the freedom of religion clause and many will rise up and use whatever favorable court rulings you may get to sue you, you ridiculous, foolish bigots.
