1. Surprised they didn't claim Murdoch's enemies did it to make him look guilty.
The gods of coincidence sure have a sense of irony.

5. Nope
My local police - Hertfordshire Police.

If you search you'll find that in the past he'd been using 3 grams of coke a day and was of late a very drinker too.

13. Not classed suspicious

Just unexplained i.e exact cause not know. Nothing unusual about that - stock wording here. A neighbour had called the police because he was concerned. I'm wondering if the guy was actually in the garden rather than his own flat although our local paper uses the expression "found at his flat".

A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said Mr Hoare struggled with alcohol abuse and had looked increasingly unwell in recent weeks.

Former Enron exec dies in apparent suicide

Former Enron Corp. vice chairman J. Clifford Baxter was found dead in his car in a Houston suburb early Friday, the victim of an apparent suicide, police said.

Police in Sugar Land said Baxter was found in his 2002 Mercedes Benz with a gunshot wound to the head at 2:23 a.m. Friday.

"He was discovered inside a vehicle parked between two medians," police spokeswoman Pat Whitty said. "A suicide note was found at the scene. There was no sign of foul play. Inside his wallet was an ID indicating he was an employee of Enron."

15. From about three feet away, if I recall correctly, according to the wound.
Perfectly normal circumstances.

16. I think it was rat SHOT fired from a pistol.
Rat shot is a pistol round that is sort of like a miniature shotshell. Because there are a lot of little pellets instead of a single projectile, there are no bore markings on a bullet and therefore there is no way to determine what gun fired the round.

18. That's correct, as I remember it.
That's also why they could tell the distance of the gun, from the spread of the shot.

14. We don't use that expression here in the UK.
Edited on Tue Jul-19-11 05:49 PM by dipsydoodle
at least not in this context. 3rd party simply means "other person/persons"

17. Oh. Well I think it's a suspicious death nonetheless. There are NO coincidences.

19. There are many coincidences, though
I doubt that this death was a coincidence. Probably done by professionals who know how to leave no trace.
