Iraq Leaders With Fewer U.S. Ties Emerge |
|
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040417/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_winners_and_losers&cid=540&ncid=1480BAGHDAD, Iraq - A new batch of Iraqi leaders has sprung up in the latest spasm of violence in Iraq (news - web sites) — people with grassroots support but few or no ties to the U.S.-led occupation.
The new players include an association of Sunni clerics, "the Prince of the Marshes" from southern Iraq and an outspoken Shiite woman dentist.
The rise of these new figures is largely at the expense of politicians with links to the U.S.-led occupation. Their arrival comes as Iraqi leaders are wrangling over who will make up a government due to take power from U.S. administrators on June 30.
On that day, the U.S.-appointed Governing Council — a 25-member body that has served as Iraq's interim government since July but failed to win the trust of many Iraqis — will likely be dissolved.

And translates her mothers blog. They are wonderfull people, half Palestinian, half Iraqi, doubly victims of US and Israel fascists, and I can only admire their humanism and not giving into pure hate.
With the news of latest Israeli murder in Gaza, I'm sadder than ever, and angry, if Israel and USA are democracies, it is you people who cannot be negotiated with, you people who allow this to go on, you just want or allow more violence, more bloodshed, and only understand the language of violence, and have sympathy for your own thugs who get dead by the sword they have taken. I don't like the way I feel right now, I should learn from the wisdom of our friend who blog from Iraq.
