2. Will certainly now widen to all of our newspapers.
The Mirror, who've made the sole , currently unsubstantiated, allegation re. 9/11, has already been mentioned.

Off topic but probably of interest to you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wapping_dispute

5. Main benifciary of yesterday's hearing appears to be James
James Murdoch, appointed deputy chief operating officer of News Corp. (NWSA) in March, took control at a three-hour hearing on phone-hacking in a performance that may increase his chances of running the media company.

The 38-year-old repeatedly interrupted U.K. lawmakers yesterday when they posed questions to his 80-year-old father, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rupert Murdoch, about the company’s internal investigations and whether the executives had knowledge of phone-hacking and payments to police for information by employees at the News of the World tabloid.

“Clearly his father was delegating to him and obviously trusts him to take forward the management of the company,” said Claire Enders, founder and CEO of media researcher Enders Analysis in London, whose clients include the U.K. government.

6. This is what the current Prime Minister was aware of about
the media spokes person he hired.... He worked for an organization that caused great harm/pain to former P.M Brown... Read this and keep this in mind when you hear Prime Minister David Cameron say that his hiring of former Murdock thug was a mistake if he discovers he was lied to... Reguardless if Camerion discovers in hindsight he was lied to..... He knew as did all of England that Murdocks thugs were responsible for releasing this info.:

"Brown's spokeswoman said: "The family has been shocked by the level of criminality and the unethical means by which personal details have been obtained. The matter is in police hands."

When their first child, Jennifer, was born on 28 December 2001, a small group of specialist doctors and nurses was aware that she had suffered a brain haemorrhage and was dying. By some means which has not been discovered, this highly sensitive information was obtained by news organisations, who published it over the weekend before Jennifer died, on Monday 6 January 2002.

In 2003, Devon and Cornwall police discovered that one of their junior officers was providing information from the police national computer to a network of private investigators. The Guardian has established that one of these investigators, Glen Lawson of Abbey Investigations in Newcastle upon Tyne, used this contact to commission a search of police records for information about Brown on 16 November 2000. Lawson also commissioned searches related to two other Labour MPs, Nick Brown and Martin Salter."http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/11/phone-hacking-news-international-gordon-brown

8. One can only hope...
Everything Morloch touches is corrupt, illegal and unjust. I wasn't surprised that the pig who owns the Faux-News and WSJ tried to pull this crap.

The only shame is that Morloch closed up only the NOTW. He should have been made to close up Faux and WSJ as well. It's like the guy at LA Times said - those two criminal organizations don't deserve 1A.

11. The inclusion of 'broadcasters' seems to be basically pandering to the Right's hatred of the BBC
Which they regard as left-wing (simply because it's not actively biased to the right); and also distrust because it is publicly funded.

One of the current right-wing arguments is that yes, Murdoch may have got too powerful but the BBC is even more powerful and is poisoning our country with its evil left-wing propaganda, etc.

Certainly the investigation should and will be including newspapers not part of the Murdoch empire; e.g. the Mail and the Mirror.
