Michele Bachmann Campaign Accused Of Shoving ABC News Reporter Brian Ross
Source: Huffington Post

AIKEN, S.C. — ABC News says a reporter trying to question GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann was pushed and shoved by members of her camp after a campaign event in South Carolina.

Network news senior vice president Jeffrey Schneider said reporter Brian Ross was shoved Tuesday as security tried to block him from the Minnesota congresswoman while he asked whether she had to miss votes because of migraines. Schneider said Ross has been a victim of worse violence but added no reporter should be roughed up pursuing a story.

A spokeswoman for Bachmann did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

An online news site claimed Monday that Bachmann was reportedly sidelined by headaches. Bachmann says her symptoms are controlled with medication and have not gotten in the way of her political work.

5. It didn't take long to taking out the media for asking questions
This will only get worse (or better).

My favorite comment on the Huffington site was "with or without headaches she is bad for the country".

6. Ross got roughed up over a question about her headaches?
If the MSM would ever grow a pair and ask about her questionable religious views and ties, her and her husband's questionable college degrees and credentials, their views on homosexuality, and her ignorance of the issues and history, how would Bachmann & staff react? At gunpoint?

7. "debilitating migraines" will really finish her, altho this doesn't help.
there was an article in the NYT this a.m. No way she can prettify this...

8. What finished her
is her whacko Rapture-ready religion. Americans admire Christians, so long as they are quietly devout and don't shove their dogma down our throats. Not so with dear MB, whose religious beliefs are so OTT as to be of frightening concern.

9. I dunno. Our MSM seems bent on avoiding her religious notions.
They oddly don't mention it. And they don't say what you just did, even tho you are probably right about how Americans feel about whacko religiosity.

So it becomes a kind of non-issue. The media DOES like to talk about medical issues and play on it a LOT, I have noticed. As far back as I can remember in politics (and I'm pretty old!) health has been a big issue in presidential politics...remember the McGovern campaign?

10. The media do cover it
they simply downplay it, as they are wont to do. Anyone paying attention, however, will pick up on it.

14. I have migraines. Does that mean I can never hold office?
This is just silly. Lots of people get migraines. We have plenty of dirt on Bachman without this nonsense.

15. My daughter has debilitating migraines. She has a very stressful job
and when she gets overloaded she gets them. She's had to go to the Emergency Room on several occasions. She is an extremely competent, intelligent, hard working person but I would not like to see her President, given the stresses of the job.

I cannot, of course, speak for you and your experience. But I do think that the health issue is something the American people are especially picky about when it comes to their presidential candidates. I remember how John Kerry opted for surgery for his cancer so that he could be "cancer free" when he ran for President...

16. We don't know that Bachman's are debilitating
You know I can't stand this bitch. But I'd just as soon stay away from her health issues. We'd be screaming if the repukes were doing this to our candidate.

17. sorry, but I think it is a bona fide job related question, myself.
It's very different from, say, FDR's situation, IMO where the disability was in not being able to walk. Being sidelined that frequently due to skull wracking headaches accompanied by vomiting (my daughter has recounted her symptoms to me and they are frightening)and distorted vision would present a problem in doing the job of president. Other situations, such as health related problems that can be remedied with medication are another thing entirely.

But that's just my own opinion, really. Of course, I do not want to see a candidate hounded about health issues that are being handled responsibly...
