France condemns Iran nuclear move
Source: Financial Times

Iran has claimed it is installing new high-tech uranium enrichment centrifuges to hasten progress in its nuclear programme, a move that France has condemned as a “clear provocation” as the Islamic republic continues to defy international sanctions.

Tehran’s claim on Tuesday that it had installed “new centrifuges with better quality and speed” will inflame fears in the west that Iran was making good on its promise to build new secret enrichment facilities to make weapons-grade uranium.

Washington had been “watching very closely” for signs that Iran was building a new facility, a senior official told the Financial Times, adding that it was “inevitable” that the Islamic republic would try to build a new site. He said: “Based on their track record, it’s logical that they would try to build another clandestine enrichment facility.”

France condemned the announcement. “This is yet another violation of the six Security Council resolutions and the 10 IAEA board of governors resolutions,” a foreign ministry official said.

Something which is "clearly provocative" will, by definition, provoke a response.

1. What? The French don't want nuclear competition?
Iran's a sovereign nation. Go away.

2. Iran's in violation of the NPT, and they're flaunting it.
What comes next should be no surprise.

3. Oh, I'm never surprised when the US gets in another war to make huge
profits for corporations, while simultaneously cutting more social programs here.

I won't be surprised, but I will be angry about the continuing impoverishment of the American people for the benefit of 1% of the population.

As long as we allow Israel to do what they do, there'll be trouble over there. We need to abandon the entire area - they were all at it tooth and nail long before we existed as a country, and they can throw rocks just fine after we're gone. I would not personally pay 10 cents for clear title to the whole region.
