NC unemployment rate climbs to 9.9 percent - highest this year

Layoffs in state and local governments have driven North Carolina’s unemployment rate to the highest level in nearly a year.

Some 10,200 jobs were cut from the public sector, including 7,200 in state government, leading to a statewide jobless rate of 9.9 percent in June, the North Carolina Employment Security Commission reported Friday.

Shocking that cutting state budgets would somehow increase unemployment. I can't believe that it would actually do that.

5. Same in MI
Our unemployment had steadily decreased for several years, from a peak of 15.3%. Now it went up for the second month in a row. The damage from Gov. Snyder's economic policies aren't taking long to take affect.
