2 men accused of attacking pilot at Miami airport

A man punched an American Airlines pilot who kicked him off a flight from Miami, and he and his brother then attacked the pilot again before bystanders tackled the brothers in the terminal, officials said Thursday.

Jonathan and Luis Baez, both of Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, were arrested at Miami International Airport. They had been aboard American Airlines Flight 1755 bound for San Francisco on Wednesday night, according to an arrest affidavit.

While the plane taxied away from the gate, a flight attendant noticed 27-year-old Jonathan Baez was sleeping and had not buckled his seat belt, police said. She tried to wake him, but she told police that Baez was unresponsive and appeared to be intoxicated or on drugs.

The pilot turned the plane around and returned to gate D51.

"As we always do with these things, we'd much rather deal with it on the ground than in the air," American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith said Thursday.

I'm guessing their next trip to San Juan is going to be on a makeshift raft...

(assuming this recount of the events is accurate)

2. What did that one brother hear that made him turn back and deck the pilot?
I wanna know what pissed him off.

Sounds like they exited the plane as ordered without trippin.

Somebody probably said something snarky and didn't know who they were fooling with.

3. What makes you think anything was heard or said?
There is nothing in the article to suggest any such thing. Intoxication may be what "made" the poor dear deck the pilot, if one really needs to place blame on something besides the brothers' assholery in general.

"They exited the plane as ordered without trippin?" No, the death threat was issued before they left the plane. I'd put that in the category of "trippin."

It sounds like you want to blame the pilot and/or flight crew for the actions of these two men. I don't know why, but I'm sure you have your reasons.

4. The only version of the story is from the airline's perspective and the police
Don't you want to hear all sides?

5. The two men are worthless thugs lock 'em up.
Even if something was said, it does not matter. Lock 'em up.

8. Sure, I'd like to hear all sides.
That would mean hearing from witnesses (as in the linked story), and from the brothers themselves.
Uninvolved parties making up scenarios out of thin air are not included in my definition of "all sides."

10. I don't care what was said..
.. they are thugs and I hope they rot in jail a few months.

You don't get the punch a pilot for doing what THEY ARE MANDATED TO DO.
