1. Very good.
I am glad to see this happening and hope that the program can grow to help many others too.

2. Are these grants going to religious community services is my 1st question?
And why is it that the govt is farming out it's responsibility to basically private contractors that don't pay taxes? Wouldnt be better for the military to create a re-adjustment program into civilian life; job placement, housing, and mental health services if needed! Why just throw money out to institutions that operate on their own with different methods.

I suppose that the military has screwed up their responsibility thus far with returning service persons back into a civilian roll after. However, they could certainly begin to create a program now to help those who have served and are now getting out into an economy that has too few jobs and too few opportunities to help those who served to defend the US.

And in reality, our govt of, for, and by The People ought to be looking out for all of it's citizens in a sane and humane manner. The current trend is absolutely nuts and completely unsustainable. Anothe DU post spoke a bit of a more utopian model of less time working, work actually paying, retirement possible, and a sound model of health care, food sustenance, clean environment, and better treatment of older citizens who have given their labor and sacrafice to this country a reasonable, enjoyable retirement without the fear of being cut off to die in a cold, dark corner. And really all the people of this world should have the same expectations for a quality life full of progress and happiness and without fear of not having the simple life sustaining needs that humans require to be able to live.
