"Reflections on Return": Injured Soldiers Speak About Coming Home From Ira
Over the weekend, the 700th U.S. soldier died in Iraq. Nearly 12,000 more have been injured since the invasion began. Today we hear a piece produced by Youth Radio capturing the voices of several of those injured soldiers recovering at Andrews Air Force Base.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As many as 11,700 US soldiers have been wounded in Iraq since President Bush ordered the invasion on March 20th. All of the injured GIs returning to the United States go through Andrews Air Force Base in suburban Maryland. Since Andrews is the first stop home, it‚s where soldiers start the process of healing and reflecting on what it means to be injured and a war veteran. Youth Radio produced this audio postcard of some young soldiers and the nurses taking care of them.

1. Listening to this streaming video should be reason enough to force
Congress to ACT post haste to remove these corrupt politicians from office! If not, vote them out of office in NOV.

3. Just One Problem
The members of Congress who need to act are as corrupt as BushCo. Don't expect them to do anything at all.

Let's face facts, if someone produced a picture of George beating a child with a whip, members of Congress would find some way to spin it,
and I mean both sides, not just Republicans.

Congress will not act, as it is Bush's actions already meet the requirements for the introduction for articles of impeachment. But the Democrats in the House won't even go there, they don't have the courage.

As for voting them out in November, good luck on that, we Americans for lack of a better word are stupid. We don't like to admit that we made a mistake, and voting a politician who has been reelected, out of office, is equivalent to admitting a mistake has been made.

And even if Bush loses, I don't think the Rethugs are going to go easily. There is no way to know what might happen, they might try
the use of force to change the results. All we can do is wait, vote,
and see what happens.

4. Many Democrats and Republicans will work to oust Bush from power.
Who are you kidding-

This is the second time around for treachery and seditious behavior to surface in the Republican Party...re: Nixon(?)

Bush is a blight on the Republican party because he is a power crazed war monger. Not exactly, the image the GOP had in mind for their leader.

Fools speak in absolutes when they paint everyone with the same broad brush and the primary reason they never get anywhere in life because they're quitters. Quitters never Win, and Winners never quit. see.

6. A Bit Naive Aren't You
Bush may be a blight, but if you think that the Republicans want to give any power, then you're just a little naive.

Even McCain who seems to get praise from Democrats, doesn't say much against a man who showed disrespect for his wife, and attacked his daughter.

It's all about keeping power, they have no morals, and they don't give a rats ass that this idiot has one of the most corrupt administrations since Nixon.

And from the lack of action on the part of the GOP, this war monger is exactly what they want. Can you quote any named member of the GOP that has spoken up against what this administration is doing, if you have at least one, and McCain doesn't count, please list their name
and what they said.

And for your information I don't quit, I'm ready to fight, and to take lives if it becomes necessary, what about you???

9. Thinking in terms of dualisms is common in our cognitive culture..
get with it-

"Bush may be a blight, but if you think that the Republicans want to give any power, then you're just a little naive."

In your world, All Republicans are alike? Are all Democrats alike as well?

"It's all about keeping power, they have no morals, and they don't give a rats ass that this idiot has one of the most corrupt administrations since Nixon."

The political dynamics have changed in the last several weeks or haven't you been paying attention? There have been at least three major strikes in a row directed at the Bush WH devoid of any significant counter strikes. The usually smooth swinging Rovian pendulum is bobbling uncontrollably in defib. The electricity is out, backup generators groaning, batteries are scarce, leaving the roach infested WH awash in candlelight. Just look at the morning headlines-- tedium ad infinitum--

For openers, BushCo. have entrapped themselves. They've broken the Twelfth rule of power.(eg.) "You're right--we don't know what to do about Iraq. Now you tell us."

Kerry, daily outlining a plan for Iraq. Clinton, relishing the opportunity for suggesting ME solutions...Militery families demanding their sons and daughters be brought home from the War until a viable plan is in place...

"And from the lack of action on the part of the GOP, this war monger is exactly what they want. Can you quote any named member of the GOP that has spoken up against what this administration is doing, if you have at least one, and McCain doesn't count, please list their name and what they said."

Indulge me, I'm cutting and pasting-- (not running, it's very late)

It's all here...read on:

Congress wants answers on Bush's plans for Iraq

Three congressional committees have scheduled hearings that Republican lawmakers hope will produce information they need to explain President Bush's Iraq policy to increasingly restive constituents. Democrats say the hearings will provide a forum for criticizing what they say have been the administration's missteps.

"The country is polarized," said Rep. James A. Leach (R-Iowa), who had voted against the decision to go to war. "The issue to me is how we proceed from here."
