NOM's $100K Fundraiser: $98,000 Short
Source: The Advocate

The antigay National Organization for Marriage launched a fundraising challenge in June where an anonymous donor offered a $1 for every Facebook like, Twitter follower, and text message the group received — up to $100,000. But not enough people "like" the group to reach its goal.

As of today, the end of the challenge, NOM has received around $2,000.

NOM received 931 Facebook likes and 298 new Twitter followers, or $1,229, according to Good to You. While it's not clear how many text messages were sent NOM's way, it seems unlikely that it added up to more than a few hundred dollars, Good to You writes.

2. Maybe we should thank the Repukes. They've trashed the Economy so badly that...
...no one has any money to spend on hating gays :eyes:

Either that or, gosh-darn...you don't think people are starting to (horrors) "not care" if gays marry?

5. Well say what you want, but I live in New York and my
10th wife and I were getting along fine until they made gay marriage legal.

Now we seem to be having problems, must be the gay marriage thing, couldn't be anything else.

:sarcasm:

10. It must have something to do with NY. All the serial monogamists in Massachusetts are doing fine.

9. Your spouse gets turned into salt for looking back over his or her shoulder, not because
he or she was born with the same genitalia as you were.

Mind you, Lot did offer his two young, virgin daughters to a crowd with rape on its mind. It was, however, his wife who turned into a seasoning for looking back over her shoulder at a city so sinful that God had decided to destroy it with fire.

No preacher I've ever heard preach that story--and I've heard a few--has mentioned Lot's unfortunate parenting skills. Go figure.

The Bible does not mention any punishment for same gender marriage.

Putting together all of the above, I'd say people who enter into same gender marriage will be fine, as long as they don't look back nostalgically at their single life and cheat on their spouses.

11. If they did, they would be FOR same gender marriage.
(Come on, whose marriage is gay? Maybe the reception is a lot fun, but, after a while, marriage gets to be just day to day stuff.)

8. How many members of NOM are on marriage number two, or three, or four?
So many who tout "Traditional Marriage" married so many times, and we've only been married once. For 21 years. I guess we're un-traditional. That's cool.
