Protesters turn out in Buffalo to denounce Bush policie
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- President Bush was met Tuesday by hundreds of protesters, who gathered in this city's downtown to denounce everything from the Iraq war to U.S. economic policies.

The president, who had come to the city to promote the continuation of the Patriot Act, arrived to chants of "Go Home, Bush! Go Home, Bush!" Michael Rozendal of Buffalo was handing out flyers for the Western New York Peace Center.

"The military is a very blunt instrument," the 30-year-old registered Democrat said. "They talk about winning over hearts and minds and drop two-thousand bombs."

Bill Pienta of Buffalo, a member of the United Steelworkers of America, was protesting the Bush administration's economic policies.

"We're seeing our jobs going overseas," said Pienta, 55. "They're abandoning the working class and they are abandoning our retirees."

2. Those are my boys/girls!
Buffalo is a terrific town and was my adopted hometown for a number of years. I am not surprised that those terrific people got out there and let Mr. Hubris have it. He obviously didn't look at the voting patterns of the city...

5. "Hey Karl, what's this all about?"
"I didn't sign up for this! When's the next 2000 buck a plate fundraiser, or when's my next speech in front of the American Enterprise Institute or a captive military audience?"

LOL, King George, meet your public.

4. Justin Norton will change his tune when he gets a draft notice.
Justin Norton, 25, came out to show his support for the president.

"I find them to be uneducated on the issues," he said of the anti-Bush protesters. "I ask them what civil liberties they have lost (as a result of the Patriot Act) and they can't answer."
