George W. Bush to narrate 9/11 anniversary intro for Fox pregame
Source: Yahoo

George W. Bush will narrate a two-minute feature that will air at the beginning of Fox's pregame NFL coverage this Sunday on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The clip will include members of the FDNY, NYPD, and NY/NJ Port Authority Police. The former president recorded the piece this week at his home in Texas. In it, he talks about the "heroism, perseverance and recovery."

Another feature, to be aired before Fox's coverage of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET games begins, will be narrated by Academy Award winner Robert DeNiro. It will precede a moment of silence and the playing of taps from Shanksville, Pa. Later in the day, a similar ceremony will take place at Arlington National Cemetery prior to Fox's broadcast of the Washington Redskins - New York Giants game.

If you don't like your politics or patriotism mixing with your football, tough; you're going to have to get used to it this week. The NFL is so big that former presidents narrate introductions to pregame shows and current presidents schedule speeches so as to avoid a conflict with the season opener. What else besides football could so many people together to remember the most horrific day many of us will ever see?

4. Perhaps some old footage?
Maybe they could show some of that stock footage of Witless George just sitting there in that Florida classroom.

I'm sure there's plenty around. The intro could last nine-and-a-half minutes.

Who the hell thought it would be a good idea for George W. Bush, of all people, to introduce anything having to do with 9/11, or heroism for that matter? These must be the same flavor of idjits who put "Born In The USA" on their 4th of July "patriotic" playlist.

Of course, it IS Fox.....

8. It is his trump card. His cover-all.
"Since 9/11...." add anything needed concerning defense, war, hell even agriculture, debt (WHOOPS), unions, illegal wiretapping, torture, abject failure, taxes, oh what else..... education, weather,.......etc.

Zero ceremony? FFS! What a load of bollocks. I guess all those sick and dying cops and firemen would spanner up the good ol' police-state's big propaganda shindig of fear-mongering.

I hope somebody has the guts to ask W what was going through his throbbing little head as he sat forlornly in that Florida classroom with the tome 'The Pet Goat' right after having the multi-departmental breach of security-proving POTUS death-threat codewords "Angel is Next" whispered in his ear by Andrew Card.

14. not interested in any of the games on Sunday except Cowboys/Giants
and instead on Sunday afternoon I'm gonna listen to Thom Hartmann's 9/11 special that'll be on Free Speech TV from 4-7PM Eastern. If you lack that channel on your TV, watch it online at FreeSpeech.org and Ustream.tv/thomhartmann. And Bush gets more tasteful every day after Jan. 20, 2009. I'll tune in to watch his war crimes arrest and trial live. And the comments are PRO-BUSH! Yahoo must be dominated by right wankers.

21. I still don't understand why people rallied around him right after 9/11
Edited on Fri Sep-09-11 09:44 PM by jimlup
Honestly - I held him responsible for incompetence then and still do. It was criminal negligence of his oath of office if not worse. Instead of talking on the FOX pre-game the man should be facing a war crimes tribunal in the Hague. Not for 9/11 though he should face trial of criminal negligence in the states - that is after he is convicted and hung until dead by the world court.

Anything else is a miscarriage of justice. :puke:

29. I think the odd credit that he got that day was continually eroded
his peak was throwing out the pitch at Yankee stadium and I have to admit that that was a great moment. A moment allowed by his own negligence. But then as the years go by I think people are seeing that they were purposely directed to take the leap over the obvious first step "How did you let this happen?!?!?" to "What are you going to do about it?" - Roger Ailes advised Rove and Bush that the longer he pushed forward the longer people would support him.

Every anchor that day said, "Well his Presidency is confirmed now" meaning forget about the rigged election and step over blame. When Peter Jennings said that I remember getting an odd feeling. We were all so shocked that it just went right by.

The most scared I got was when he got on TV that night and you could see fear in his eyes. THEN I thought "Oh crap it is worse than we thought".

30. I also held his administration responsible
nothing like disregarding the August PDB report, or disregarding the previous administration's warnings that terrorism would be your top priority or disregarding some of your FBI agents who were monitoring said terrorists--no, prostitutes and chong were the security risks in this country at the time. Of course, allowing some SA family members to get out of Dodge after the attack makes one go "hmmm."

Of course, I really do have a hard time believing that the terrorists were armed only with utility blades. Guns, yep-explosives, yep-small, shallow utility blades, nope. Especially if you have a plane with fifty or more people on board.

Also, anyone notice that the anthrax attacks happened before the vote on the patriot act-those who were targeted-why nothing was found until little boot's is about to end his presidency. Then one scientist is targeted--like attempting to close the case before the expiration of the administration.

I still have questions--one thing, standing on rubble with a bullhorn or strutting across a deck does not make one a hero. The MSM's job it seems, is to sprinkle fairy dust so that the viewers see cake instead of shite. Elevating individuals into hero status is obscene when real heroes and truthtellers are sometimes ignored or punished.

Remember, he didn't read "The Pet Goat" (which is actually nothing more than a piece in a book of reading drills). The children read it -- more chanted it -- to him.

George Bush murdered more people than Charles Manson but the powers that be parade that criminal before the public. There is a sickness in the land when we allow a war criminal to walk free.
