Former Aide To Gov. (Walker) Speaks About FBI Search

MADISON, Wis. -- In an interview with WISC-TV, a former top aide to Gov. Scott Walker said she did not do anything wrong, and is not sure why federal agents searched her home on Wednesday.

Cynthia Archer is the former deputy secretary of the Department of Administration. She confirmed that her home on Dunning Street was searched by the FBI in an investigation she said she is cooperating with.

"I have nothing to hide," Archer said. "I fully supported them and cooperated (Wednesday), and I intend to cooperate with the investigation and do anything they ask."

Archer has recently been linked to a reported John Doe investigation in Milwaukee County into county employees campaigning for Walker while at work. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported the investigation started after an employee admitted to posting political comments during the work day, and that the secret proceedings have targeted Archer as well as other top staffers under then-County Executive Walker.

1. TPM also contacted Archer, who declined to comment citing a request from law enforcement

3. OMFG!
The FBI also seized the hard drive from a computer that a neighbor had bought from Archer six to eight weeks ago at a garage sale.

Next-door neighbor Dale Riechers said he had never turned on the computer because he was planning to work on it later in the fall. He told the agents about the hard drive and they asked to take it, Riechers said.

That should be VERY interesting.

7. I'm thinking this is more than politicking on the publics time.
They searched and photographed her car. What would that have to do with posting on blogs and such? I'm beginning to think there is something REALLY criminal here.

10. Yep
Everyone blogs/comments while at work. Not that big a deal. In order for the FBI to search a home, there has to be something much larger going on.

11. Give me a break
Obama has given a pass to every single Bush era criminal. You seem to suggest that actual crimes not be investigated if they are committed by "political opponents." Let me assure you that if Obama knew about the FBI's involvement in this matter, he would have stopped it in the name of "going forward."

All reports are that the FBI is simply assisting the locals, not conducting the investigation. You're a fool if you believe that Bush's DoJ (which Obama left intact) would even consider the prosecution of a Republican, they won't even touch rich people. If you doubt that follow what happens to Murdoch on this side of the pond, it will be absolutely nothing.

12. Thanks for the best laugh I've had all week. At noon on January
20th, 2009, it became President Obama's FBI. I'm depressed - cheer me up with another story about the brilliant constitutional lawyer not knowing what AG Holder and his FBI are up to.

No doubt he doesn't pay attention during any of his meetings, yeah, that's the ticket, he wasn't paying attention!

13. How much staff turnover followed?
Obama retained all of the thoroughly corrupt Bush US Attorneys. You are much greater fool than even your first comment demonstrates, and a typically uninformed representation of the idiotic right wing. Be sure, if Obama were engaged in political prosecutions, he'd have bigger fish to fry. He'd do it the way Bush did, but Obama has more in common with Bush than what little distinguishes him, so he isn't going to pursue Republican criminals regardless of the evidence. It never ceases to amaze me how bamboozled the Fox groupies are, they really think Obama is something that there is absolutely no evidence to support. Fox invents the evil black, Muslim boogieman and the lemmings buy it hook, line and sinker. It's pathetic that such a large portion of the population can be so fooled all the time, and their irrational briefs will destroy us all.

14. You are really cracking me up with your humor! Certainly you
remember how Obama kept all the Bush Cabinet (well, there was that one) and in DOJ, let's see just how Bush AGs, Deputy AGs and Assistant AGs there are - oh right, zero.

But you are right - Bush still calls the shots and that must be why Obama is doing so well. ROTFLMAO!

You absolutely need to hit Comedy Central on open mic night.

19. Here are all the resources anyone needs - it's not rocket science
by any means. All anyone has to do is compare the DOJ current information with the November 2008 Plum Book.

Plum Book (DOJ portion): http://www.gpoaccess.gov/plumbook/2008/p95-103_doj.pdf

DOJ's current orgs & leaders: http://www.justice.gov/agencies/index-org.html.

And for incumbent US Attorneys, there's an easy-to-use map at http://www.justice.gov/usao/about/usa-map.html.

And no, I'm not going to do SPOTBIRD's DOJ line by line analysis for him/her. But the statement, "Obama retained all of the thoroughly corrupt Bush US Attorneys." isn't even remotely related to the truth - unless "all" is being redefined to equal 3 of the 93 (roughly 3.2258%) US Attorneys.

But that's sadly par for the course these days, "My mind is made up - don't confuse me with facts!" With such knee-jerk reckless "facts", is any reasonably bright individual surprised that Democrats seem to be getting trounced these days?

20. Proving once again that ignorance is bliss
You have no knowledge of what happened at all. Obama kept every one of the Bush US Attorneys when he took office, a year later 2/3 of them were still there, including those who were the most demonstratively corrupt. Your hero Bush, fired all of the Clinton US Attorneys the first day he could, but made the mistake of replacing some of them with honest people dedicated to to impartial enforcement of the law. Eventually the failure of some Bush appointed AGs to abuse their power became such a problem to the Bush WH that the most honest of them were fired. Bush and his cronies eventually decided to replace all US Attorneys with political hacks so the abuse of process could be engaged in nation wide? Bush didn't get that done, but not for a lack of trying.

My God, you are the typical idiotic Fox lemming. Hint: they don't report the facts, just hysterical hyperbole to get the half of the population with a below average IQ into a hate frenzy. Since you obliviously fall into the bottom half of their target audience, your even more susceptible to their mind control.

Do you believe the things you say? Are you the least bit embarrassed by the fact that nothing you say is correct.

Do you have examples of the political prosecutions Obama has initiated? You have confabulated the Obama administration with the actual corruption of his predecessor, but his failure to doso. Obama should have done the right thing and prosecuted those who abused power under Bush
Not that facts have a thing to do with your faith:

(AP)

In what may be the top two national posts in light of today's crises at home and abroad, Obama stuck with the picks of former President George W. Bush in reappointing Fed chief Ben Bernanke and Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Bernanke last week was given another four-year term to preside over nothing less than saving the U.S. economy and then keeping it strong. He was appointed by Bush in 2006 after a short stint as chairman of Bush's Council of Economic Advisers. Gates was kept in his Pentagon post to wind down the war in Iraq and build up the one in Afghanistan.
...

Obama's larger problem is that he still does not have his own people in a majority of the government's top policymaking positions requiring Senate confirmation. But those he has put in top positions include a number of Republicans or nontraditional Democrats.

Along with Gates and Bernanke, they include:

Sheila Bair as holdover chairwoman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. She has played a major role in the management of the financial crisis. A one-time unsuccessful candidate for a Kansas House of Representatives seat, Bair was appointed by Bush in June 2006. Forbes Magazine ranks her as the second most powerful woman in the world behind German chancellor Angela Merkel.

Ray LaHood, a former congressman from Illinois, as transportation secretary. He was elected as part of the "Gingrich Revolution" by Republicans in 1994's elections and was so trusted by both Republicans and Democrats that he was selected to preside over the House during the impeachment vote against President Bill Clinton.

Former Rep. John McHugh from upstate New York, as Army secretary. McHugh was known by his House colleagues for an even temperament and willingness to work with Democrats.

Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who was a Mormon missionary in China in his youth, as ambassador to China.

Francis Collins, an evangelical Christian, as director of the National Institutes of Health.

15. Thank you for this.
La Follette told his followers:

"Free men of every generation must combat renewed efforts of organized force and greed to destroy liberty."

La Follette's 1924 crusade won almost five million votes--more than five times the highest previous total for a candidate endorsed by the Socialists.
