There are reports that Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson is on lockdown due to a gunman.

Base officials are not releasing any information.

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base


Reports of suspicious activity have caused D-M officials to declare a higher state of security. No shots have been fired and no one has been hurt. Officials are currently investigating the situation, and more information will be forthcoming. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

3. Twiiter report: shooter is reported to be civilian.
The base is best known as the boneyard for old military and government airplanes.( says Fox)

2 ambulances en route, says Twitter.

Per NPR:
From the AP: Davis-Monthan Air Force Base spokeswoman says no shots have been fired at Tucson air base.

7. You know, where I live they recently closed acess to the base
(makes it a hell of alot harder to get to the city now because its on the complete other side of the base) to anyone but military, dependents of military, retired military and in a few special cases civilians because they were afraid of something happening on or near the 9/11 anniversary and i cant help but wonder if its not themselves they need to worry more about.
