Sen. Brown’s aides bill him “underdog”
Source: Boston Herald

Sen. Scott Brown, in a dead heat with Democrat Elizabeth Warren according to a poll released Tuesday, is attempting to cast himself as the underdog in an overwhelmingly Democratic state.

“We have always known that Scott would be the underdog against whichever candidate wins the Democratic primary next September,” Brown campaign spokesman Colin Reed said in a statement. “But Scott has been an underdog his entire life, and has always come back to win against all odds. This campaign will be no different.”

Brown has polled favorably among residents since his special election win in January 2010 over Attorney General Martha Coakley, but now has a voting record to defend on the campaign trail and will next year attempt to win a six-year term during a presidential election, when Massachusetts Democrats tend to turn out in higher numbers. Most voters here are unenrolled but Democrats outnumber Republicans 3 to 1.

2. When an incumbent has to play the "underdog" card, something is very, VERY wrong.
And that should be the response to this nonsense.

3. His only chance of winning will be if Massachusetts has a few more..
tornadoes and floods for Brown to show up at... get some more TV time as the good guy in the red pick-up truck, driving in to save the people from natural disasters.

I notice that every time there is a flood or hurricane or those terrible freak tornadoes in W. Mass last spring, Brown showed up to get some time on TV and shaking hands...even standing next to Dem Governor and to Kerry. Brown has done NOTHING for Massachusetts in his first year and a half...just made bad decisions and bad votes. launched a media war against Rachel Maddow's TV show, that's about it.

7. His numbers went down after the major tornado hit Springfield

It may be that next to the governor and Kerry, he looked pretty weak. There was actually a photo where the mayor, Patrick and Kerry were walking through the town -- Brown walking behind them - looking like a tag along younger brother.

6. All the hacks on Morning Joe were calling Warren "Professor" yesterday
Out-of-touch, Harvard elitist. Which falls apart as soon as she starts talking. This will be fun.

8. More like "Blunderdog."
People of MA made a big mistake putting him in. Luckily, Dr. Warren will win in November, and we can get rid of that POS.

9. His election was a mistake made by sleeping Democrats.
It won't be made twice. Few average people even know who Warren is right now and she is still tied with him. Give it a few months and he can whine underdog all the way to the polls.
