Danish Firm Protests Drug Use in Florida Execution
Source: Democracy Now!

A Danish drug company is protesting the planned use of one its anesthetics in an execution set for tonight in Florida. Doctors and experts have warned pentobarbital is untested and could cause extreme suffering on death row prisoners as they are killed.

8. If rendering him unconscious prior to executing him is truly
barbarous, shall we infer that leaving him awake would be better? I believe letting the condemned sleep through on the final two steps is less barbarous than previous methods of facing the electric chair, gas chamber, firing squad, hangman, elephant trainer, etc while fully awake. You can disagree, but my conclusion is that if it's more humane, and when judging degrees of barbarous it's less rather than truly.

6. Pronounced dead at 7:14 PM EDT. Got to worry about the quality
of recent appeals that argued Valle can't be executed because he was kept alive 33 years. Not much traction there.

7. Well you got to figure they have thrown everything else at the
wall for the last 33 years. I applaud them for not giving up even though they realized it was futile.
