Warren stands firm in debate

LOWELL - Elizabeth Warren used her first Democratic debate last night to solidify her position as the front-runner in the race, with her opponents doing little to knock her off her stride or challenge her on any fundamental issue.

Warren’s performance showed a command of subjects and a comfortable stage presence, despite a lack of political experience as she begins her quest to unseat Senator Scott Brown, a Republican.

She was able to stay on her message, retelling the story of her battle to build a consumer protection agency against entrenched interests in the nation’s capital.

“Forbes Magazine named Scott Brown Wall Street’s favorite senator, and I was thinking that’s probably not an award I’m going to get,’’ she said.

1. She was good, as were the five other ones.
However, you should find better sources for that. Chabot wants to make me puke. She is a total GOP tool.

7. I heard parts of the debate and heard one guy stumble pretty badly.
He was talking about regulating banks and financial institutions and stumbled trying to remember the word 'derivative'. (I think that's what he trying to say - he never did get it out or complete his thought.)

9. It was a little more than that - he stumbled on the concept and what he
was saying became incoherent to me.

Frankly, the two women candidates impressed me the most.

14. Please don't jinx it !
Even though Mass is a fairly well educated state and Warren is the thinking persons choice, Brown has tons of money and that is a serious impediment.

Kick in $5 or $10 to help keep the ground game going. The deciding factor will be how many people get to see and hear her. She can sell herself pretty well but it will take some green to get her around the state.

10. Her background makes her the right person for the senate in these times
Warren has credibility; Wall Street and its cronies do not.

and talked to them. You know that she has every heckle and snore possible as a teacher.

17. This is one race I'll be watching.
Frankly I think a clam would be preferable to Cosmo guy, but if Warren wins this one, it's going to be especially sweet.
