Explosion hits restaurant in Brazil; officials say at least 3 killed

RIO DE JANEIRO — An explosion has caused heavy damage to a restaurant in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

Fire Department spokesman Helio Oliveira tells the G1 news website the explosion early Thursday injured at least 13 people, three of whom are listed in serious condition.

Officials say they are investigating the cause of the explosion.
