OWS - Denver - Being cleared out by order of Dem Governor
Source: The Denver Post

Authorities didn't appear at the park until approximately 2:40 a.m., when a state patrol captain drove an SUV to the corner of Lincoln and 14th Street and announced via loudspeaker that the crowd had until 3:15 to disperse.

As he repeated the warning several times over the next 40 minutes, crowds formed around the SUV, yelling at police to let the peaceful gathering continue.

Around 3:15 a.m. rows of squad cars parked on Lincoln and Colfax, and officers began walking into the park. Others stood on Broadway. Dump trucks were brought in for tents and other trash that authorities picked up and threw away.

1. If more people occupy the park every day...
... the police will not be able to continue this.

This governor is going to hell (if there is one)... he has no right to govern good people.

Funny how this movement has brought out the beast in people we thought we could trust.

26. The State Patrol captain disagrees...

... with your spin, but not in the way you are implying. Read down in the link, he said it appeared that obnoxious folks had shown up and he did not want to give "them" an excuse to make the real OWS protesters look bad. He said, "We want people to go home," Wolfinbarger told a small group of media, his voice sometimes drowned out by people outside pounding on the Capitol doors and yelling. "We want this to end well so people can come back tomorrow and continue."

He also expressed concern that the original Occupy Denver protest has been "hijacked" by people whose goal is civil disobedience.

"The concern is this group that is out there in large part is not representative of the group out there at the start," Wolfinbarger said."

27. That's where this is headed anyway. All for the disobedience.
We don't have time. Every month this nation teeters closer towards the cliff. A MDC cannot sustain 9% unemployment.

And it must not be that elections can be bought. Democracy must live. In Milan, Goldman Sachs' offices were invaded today. That's where this protest was headed from the start. It's not about a pity political victory that can be besmirched in the halls of Congress... it's about waking people up to the possibility that the nation could actually fall apart. If we don't do this now, there will be a war here later.

6. Would a Republican governor do this to a Tea Party rally?
So this is what passes for a Democrat these days. Sad.

9. The Tea Baggers Disappear When the Camera Lights Go Out
because they are purely entertainment.

This is politics, and nobody was going home, and that's a no-no. Can't do public work in public.

11. The point is a Republican governor would never do this to Republicans,
but evidently a Democratic governor has no problem doing it.

8. dem gov has been getting hammered by local RW radio- 'forcing' his hand
the local blowhards have ben pushing for the 'dirty hippies' to get cleaned out.

850 KOA and KHOW 630 (with live broadcasting from the protest this morning) as well as probably every other local RW station in the state have been pounding away, and it is anther great example of why the left MUST stop giving RW radio a free speech free ride.

it is shameful that the broncos, rockies, and especially the University of CO buffaloes broadcast on the giant limbaugh station 850 KOA.

18. these local blowhards can apply a lot of pressure indirectly, through teabagger/dittoheads that
have always done what they're told.

media and politicians hear the complaints of liberal bias, etc. all together it's a huge effect that the left stupidly and lazily ignores at our peril. they don't even know it's there so they blame the wrong culprits or give the teabagger minority "popular" status for instance, or call their reps compromisers and spineless even while it is the left collectively that are not getting their reps backs and haven't figured out they have to shout over or fix the radio before there will be any real reform. instead they waste time and resources going in the wrong directions.

look at it this way: hickenlooper was trying to decide what to do and the loudest yelling he was hearing originated at the same place that was going to have the freedom to attack him his whole political career on things like this, the same stations that broadcast all the local pro and uni sports.

it's the same dynamic going on all over the country.

12. The way to counter this type of tactic is for the "average" non-hippie citizens of Denver
to get out of their comfortable homes, take off from their jobs, and go to the park and SIT DOWN. Then, let the police arrests begin again. Keep filling the park until it's obvious that they cannot stop us.

Many of us seem to think that we can protest by sitting in front of our computers and TeeVees and whining. That method of protest doesn't work.

Citizens of Denver, it's now up to you.

REC.

16. I'll pass, thanks.
While I'm certainly a "non-hippie" with a comfortable home, I'm not about to take off from my job. Aside from the fact that I have actual responsibilities, this "occupy" movement seems to be accomplishing exactly squat. I have better things to do then go to a park, SIT DOWN, and get arrested. I'll leave that to those who seem to enjoy this sort of thing, like the guy I saw on the live newsfeed (one of the last to be arrested) who repeatedly pumped his fist into the air as the police tried to handcuff him to the adoring cheers of a dozen people on the nearby sidewalk.

as someone who has been a Democratic county party officer and contributor to his campaign. I'm pissed.
