Rick Perry To Propose Energy Plan to Create 1.2 Million Jobs
Source: ABC News

In his first major policy address since entering the presidential race, Texas Governor Rick Perry will lay out a sweeping energy plan Friday, which will expand oil and gas exploration while spurring an economic boom he estimates will create 1.2 million American jobs.

In a phone interview with USA Today, Perry explained the energy initiatives are capable of creating new, high paying jobs while also aiming to “reduce our dependence on energy from nations that are all too often hostile to the United States.”

The entire premise and most of the verbage of his 'plan' comes right from an oil and gas industry tv commercial.

What an ass.

1. "he estimates"
"spurring an economic boom"

I recall hearing those phrases about the Bush Tax Givaways. Economic boom? Not the good kind.

Just like "Herb's" Nein, Nein, Nein (to burn the 99%) plan...I'm sure that Ricky's will be equally a BUST.

5. The question that needs to be asked at Conservative televised debates is:
"Name other job creating programs that do not involve Coal, Gas, Mining, Logging,or Fracking."

Am sure they have absolutely no answer for that one. BUt that is the question that needs to be asked publicly so that the American public can see they have no plans other than shilling for their Donors.

8. Americans must be educated
Edited on Fri Oct-14-11 12:20 PM by Harmony Blue
Oil rigs in the gulf take 15-20 years to be fully operational, and then the oil that is pumped out is sent to the global market. In other words, you wouldn't start to see the investment for your local community 30 years down the road. Last time I looked the economy can't wait to be jump started in 30 years. Of course those gains can be wiped out by one accident too.

10. OMG, it's up to 1.2 million jobs now! LOL
So they are going to create 1.2 million more O&G jobs by pumping a few million extra barrels then it takes people to pump all the O&G now?
What are they going to do, give 600,000 people a shovel and 600,000 people a bucket?

17. Note that the 1.2 million figure comes directly from
a recent oil and gas industry commercial. The guy didn't even bother to pick up a calculator.

14. This would certainly help Texas and its oil industries.
Texas gas prices would stay low, but the rest of us would suffer at their expense.

21. I love how they just throw these numbers out without any objective expert analysis.
Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan will give us FIVE MILLION JOBS! According to Herman Cain. Thing is, the only plan that actually has agreement on the numbers in job creation is Obama's.
