No decision yet on future troop presence in Iraq: US
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Obama administration denied a news report on Saturday it had made a final decision to pull almost all U.S. troops out of Iraq by a year-end withdrawal deadline.

The White House and Pentagon both denied an Associated Press report citing unnamed U.S. officials saying they completely dropped the idea of possibly keeping a significant contingent in Iraq as trainers for Iraqi security forces beyond 2011.

2. Get completely out. Let the Oil companies pay the
mercenaries themselves and stop hiding behind our troops.

3. They should also abandon or turn over that waste of space they call the embassy
and move to their old one.

Don't care if it's full of holes. It's good enough for me. Sell it to the Iraqis for $1 billion.

7. It seems as if this could be true.
This deal will be seen as a victory for both al-Maliki (iraqi PM) and Obama. The troops that are removed have to be at least in part replaced by security personnel, however.

8. The AP reports that the reason Obama is pulling out
is because Iraq wouldn't grant immunity against prosecution to the US troops.

12. The "sticking point" is...
that the Iraqi government doesn't want to give the US military a free pass if they violate its laws. The US overlords don't care for that. They feel they should be allowed to continue to occupy the nation without any sort of "limitations" on what they can and can't do that might run up against Iraqi law nor be held responsible if they break those same laws.
