Romney in Iowa: I love business
Source: Omaha World Herald

By Robynn Tysver

COUNCIL BLUFFS — Mitt Romney showered a lot of love on the business community during a campaign stop here Thursday.

The Republican presidential contender talked up his business credentials and his vow to put Americans back to work by, among other things, cutting corporate taxes and reducing business regulations.

"I love you. I love business. I love the fact you employ people," Romney told about 30 people gathered at the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce.

Romney is a co-founder and former head of Bain Capital, one of the nation's most successful private equity groups. He also is a former governor of Massachusetts who is making his second bid for president.

3. I love business, too. Not so much fond of the kleptocracy, though.

I am all for the free market, sanely regulated for public safety and eliminating (or at least, punishing) fraud.

Just don't make me subsidize it, especially if I have no potential upside if it's profitable. Let it be truly free, truly consumer driven and let it pay its fair share.

But, that's way too much to ask, apparently. And class warfare to boot.

ETA: Oh, yes, and please don't make it so that business can co-opt democracy. Thanks.

5. Aw, Damn I missed it.
I could have gone and seen what "business leaders" were there. That way I'd know who's businesses to avoid in the future.

6. Yeah, "I love the fact you employ people" and pay them as little as you possibly can

and work them as hard as you possibly can. That's the way it is these days.

And then wonder why people aren't buying consumer stuff.

10.  Romney loves his corporations, one wonders how he feels about natural persons.
Last I heard, some of the largest corporations have tax liability below zero, and get paid others' taxes.
Romney is planning on increasing corporate loopholes & corporate welfare?

The world is upside down.
