Argentina election 'set to return Cristina Fernandez'
Source: BBC News

Argentines are going to the polls in elections that incumbent president Cristina Fernandez looks set to win.

Ms Fernandez won more than 50% of the vote in a primary in August, which observers say is a good indicator for Sunday's final result.

She has presided over strong economic growth and introduced popular social policies.

The sudden death of her husband, former president Nestor Kirchner, a year ago brought her a wave of support.

2. The BBC sucks, like all the rest of them...
...the Associated Pukes, et al. Just another tentacle of the CIA, when it comes to the Latin American left.

"The sudden death of her husband, former president Nestor Kirchner, a year ago brought her a wave of support."--BBCons

---------------

Ah! It's all because of her husband!

I mean, come on.

What they DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW is that Argentina--like most of South America, and unlike the U.S. and the U.K.--has a REAL democracy, in which MERIT and DOING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE matter in elections. And, MORE OF WHAT THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW: the social justice, prosperity and peace that have characterized LEFTIST leadership in South America are built on several new and revolutionary premises: independence from U.S. (and lackey U.K.) corporations, military bullying and intelligence agency interference; cooperation among Latin American leaders to these purposes (most especially, in Argentina's case, with Venezuela); rebellion against Wall Street and the World Bank/IMF and their dictates; rejection of "neo-liberalism" (the rich stealing from the poor); and the building of independent regional institutions and of regional and multilateral trade, for the benefit of the people of South America, and not to pad the pockets of the already filthy rich, here or there.

THAT is why Cristina Fernandez is so popular. She is DOING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE and doing it well! And this is in the teeth of CIA and Associated Pukes' efforts to keep her from getting elected in the first place, and to slander and topple her and her administration, including that absurd CIA caper out of Miami (the suitcase full of money, carried by a Miamian named "Guido," from Venezuela to Argentina, with "Guido" then claiming that the money was from Hugo Chavez to Cristina Fernandez for her first presidential campaign), and recent U.S. State Department (Clinton) efforts to portray Fernandez as unstable and crazy--and God knows what all, that we can't even see, in U.S. dirty ops in South America (including billions of U.S. tax dollars to rightwing candidates and causes).

This is BBCon sour grapes--that her support is a "wave" (not solid), from a year ago, for godssakes, over something irrelevant to her skill at governance (her husband's death). It is also an insult to the people of Argentina, who can see plainly enough, in their daily lives and their incredible recovery from World Bank/IMF looting and ruination, what an excellent president she is.

4. Kirchner re-elected in first round of Argentina's polls
Kirchner re-elected in first round of Argentina's polls

BUENOS AIRES: President Cristina Kirchner was re-elected in the first round of Argentina's elections on Sunday, local television stations reported, citing exit polls as voting closed at 6:00 pm (2100 GMT).

The main TV channels announced a "landslide" victory of as much as 55 percent, which would be the strongest mandate for an Argentine president since the end of the 1976-1983 dictatorship.

Media reports said her lead over her nearest opponent, leftist Hermes Binner, was also a record.

The 58-year-old Kirchner - buoyed by strong economic growth and sympathy a year after the death of her husband, former president Nestor Kirchner - had been expected to secure re-election against a fractured opposition.
