Target stores is recalling thousands of children's frog masks (Halloween)
Source: Newsnet5.com

Posted: 7:23 AM

WASHINGTON - Target stores issued a voluntary recall of children’s frog masks because they lack proper ventilation, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The masks were sold only at Target stores in August and September and cost about $1. The masks are green with yellow eyeholes and a thin, red mouth. Green elastic bands fastened the mask behind the child's head.

The UPC code 06626491474 is printed on a label attached to the mask.

Customers should immediately take masks from children and return them to any Target store for a refund.

Lacking proper ventilation? I don't see why. :eyes:

1. Guess you're supposed to breathe through the eyeholes.

8. Exactly - can't help wondering
what toxic waste was processed into the mask slurry.

9. This isn't a manufacturing defect ...
... it's a design flaw. It's a question of where it was designed, not where it was made.

10. For all we know the manufacturing process omitted the breathing holes
It does look like something's missing.

3. Can't children, like frogs, breathe through their skins?
Some purchaser for Target wasn't thinking about anything but the price-point. Because everyone knows that if the price is low enough, a huge number of American consumers will buy a plastic bag to fasten over their kids faces.

12. Hmm. Seems slightly suspicious. What do we know about cheap Chinese goods?
They're often laced with toxic stuff like lead and chemicals. Maybe these masks were causing "headaches" and they're being recalled because of suspicious smells emanating from them?
