Huzhou unrest: Tax row sparks riot in China
Source: BBC News

Hundreds of business owners have clashed with riot police in an eastern Chinese city after a row over taxation, reports on official media say.

The unrest was sparked when the owner of a children's clothing firm in Huzhou city refused to pay his tax bill.

Reports say the man gathered friends to attack the local tax collector, and the row snowballed into a riot where people threw stones and overturned cars.

China has thousands of riots every year, often sparked by minor rows.

China is old old old, and it would be one helluva revolution if they pulled it off.

6. Hmmmm.....
...I'm not so sure about that. The Chinese seem to be getting the http://tinyurl.com/3peukob">hang of rioting pretty well to me. I suppose it's just that the western corporate-owned media only reports such things to its sheeple when it's to their advantage to make the Chinese look as bad as possible. Which is mostly always.

- Whereas, the Chinese are probably just better at suppressing the media in-general, more so than we are. For now.......

10. Yep.
It seems to be picking up steam. There was also a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ur5yiChYa8">protest in Russia against the existing government's undermining of democratic elections a few days ago.

- But hardly anyone noticed.

8. I don't mean the Chinese people....they have shown remarkable courage in the face of
their ruthless government and military/law-enforcement. But that is just it...their military/law enforcement will be very slow in supporting, much less allowing a large rebellion. The government keeps tight control on the reins of power.

9. I agree with what you're saying.....
...concerning the Chinese government's ruthlessness. And yet I would almost guarantee you that if the MIC feels threatened enough, our government's crackdown would make the Chinese look like pikers when it comes to "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DARPA#Projects">control." (And remember, not all of the McCarran Internal Security Act were repealed or ruled unconstitutional -- as even now Bradley Manning still sits imprisoned without trial based upon a law from 1917, even though what he disclosed was violations of law by his superiors -- yet our whistle-blower laws are ignored).

Aside from the current administration's legitimizing of the assassinations of US citizens they've deemed a security risk -- without the benefit of them being able to exercise their right of due process -- they've already shown us what they'll do to pesky protesters when they used the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8NMyUHlFhM&feature=player_embedded">sonic cannons against US citizens exercising their Constitutional right to redress their grievances against the government in Pittsburgh. (And as other governments have done against to protesters in Toronto, Greece and Honduras).

The U.S. military/police establishment haven't even gotten started with all they have in their little http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-482560/Run-away-ray-gun-coming--We-test-US-armys-new-secret-weapon.html">bag of tricks. Paid for with our own tax dollars and targeted at us. And then funneled to local cops through grants and free training provided through U.S. Gestapo Department of Homeland Security.

- All essentially designed for the protection and propping-up the rotten inner core of the Capitalist banksters who actually run this country and make all the important decisions......
