NBA Cancels All Games Through Nov. 30
Source: AP-Excite

By BRIAN MAHONEY

NEW YORK (AP) - As NBA players and owners wait to see who will blink first, fans are stuck staring at a blank calendar.

NBA Commissioner David Stern canceled the rest of the November games Friday, saying there will not be a full NBA season "under any circumstances."

Now, a full month of NBA games have been canceled, and Stern said there's no way of getting them back.

Multi-millionaire players versus billionaire owners. I can't really get too worked up about it.

be hurt by this. Sports arenas employ a lot of people. It sucks.

16. I think the owners would be fine with a year off
especially if the best players are going to go oversees, play for a year, and expand their fan base. If they could get away with it from a PR standpoint, I think the owners would have already announced no basketball this year (unless the players will willing to give in on everything).

18. Keep in mind though that the NBA employs many arena workers
and if they can't work, then that's gonna influence the unemployment rate. Now lemme put on my tinfoil hat and speculate that Republican strategists are trying to create this hostage situation between the players and owners because they knew that this strike would perpetuate unemployment and thus cost Obama votes.

19. They're not even that far apart.
Just make the deal players union, insist on a statement promising to go no further than 50% in future negotiations. See - problem solved.

27. It's funny debating conservatives over this lockout.
They want so badly to be anti union, yet the NBA owners are basically trying to instill socialist rules on their sport.
