North Korea stunned by train tragedy

A huge railway blast has injured or killed up to 3000 people in North Korea only hours after the country's reclusive leader passed the site.

The explosion occurred on Thursday when two cargo trains carrying fuel collided at Ryongchon, 50km south of the North Korean border with China, according to the South Korean YTN news channel.

The blast was so powerful it destroyed the railway station at around 1:00 pm (04:00 GMT) - just nine hours after North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il reportedly passed through it on his return from a trip to China.

1. It may not matter

It's pretty well known that Kim Il Jong is a notorious paranoid.

If he believes that this was a CIA attempt on his like (right after
Cheney visits China to drop a warning for Kim, and Kim tells the
Chinese to tell the US to more or less "get stuffed")...

Well, I can imagine that at least one terrorist organization will
finally get what they most desire. Very bad for us.

2. One report says fuel was a gift of the Chinese people.

So Kim might be wondering if it weas the Chinese, the Americans, or both. He's not appeared since....if he's aliv, I can only imagine how this might be feeding his paranoia....
