Nunes won't challenge Feinstein in CA
Source: The Hill

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) won't challenge Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) after all.

A day after Nunes hinted at run for the Senate, his chief of staff ruled out the possibilitiy.

"Devin is running for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives, period," Johnny Amaral, Nunes's chief of staff, told the Sacramento Bee. "He's not running for the Senate."

Nunes would have been facing an uphill battle: While a September poll showed Feinstein as vulnerable, California is a blue state that has only become more Democratic in recent years because of the state's growing Hispanic population.

5. Someone needs to run.
Cali, please get someone to run against Diane. She is the worst kind of Democrat. By that I mean she is a republican. She has been in the senate for 20 years. It is well past her time. She can take her millions and retire. California really needs new representation. I am sorry to say many years ago, on my first occasion to vote, I bought in to the hype and voted for DiFi and Boxer. I regret those votes more than any other I ever made. DiFi is a war monger and needs to go.

7. But, is Feinstein a Democrat?
I plan to vote neither nay or yea for or against Feinstein. She and her husband are war profiteers. That's all they are.

9. I used to complain about Feinstein, but a friend recently pointed out that she's 78 years old.
If she runs unchallenged, she will be 85 years old when her next term is up. There has already been some talk about her looking at retirement, so it's unlikely that she'd run again after her next term.

So, this should be the last time that I will get to refuse to vote for her.

I really wish that she'd retire this term though, but she'd have announced by now if that were going to happen. My concern, at this point, is that we Californians have a nasty habit of electing Republican governors. California law calls for a special election if a Feinstein passes away in office, but sets no timeline, and under other state laws that election would be many months later. In the meantime, California law allows the governor to appoint a new temporary Senator WITHOUT OVERSIGHT OR APPROVAL until after a special election occurs and a new Senator can be sworn in.

Jerry Brown gets one term, and then he's out. After that, it's anyones guess who will be sitting in the governors office. If an aging 80-something year old Feinstein were to pass away in office, a Republican governor could send any Republican crony he wanted to Washington to fill her seat and vote on bills for MONTHS.

10. She should have retired last time.
Her war profiteering hubby has amassed more than enough for them. She has absolutely no business running again. Th CDP has not groomed any one to run for that office. I can think of 4 or 5 people I would like to see run but the CDP has not been promoting them, so they have no name recognition statewide.
