Number of Victims in Penn State Abuse Case Doubles

The number of victims in the Penn State sex-abuse scandal involving former football coach Jerry Sandusky now stands close to 20, reports MyFoxPhilly.com.

There were eight victims named in the grand jury presentment and 40 charges leveled against Sandusky. The former defensive coordinator reportedly met the
young boys through The Second Mile, a charity he founded in the late 1970s.

Sources now tell the station that since state officials publicized two phone numbers for victims to call and held a press conference Monday, the number of victims
has more than doubled.

Pennsylvania state officials said the Sandusky case is an on-going investigation and more charges could be coming. Head coach Joe Paterno was not named in the
grand jury finding as violating any laws.

The President of PSU knew, Joe Pa knew, and the A.D. knew about "it" from as far back as 1998 and their in action let more little
boys be raped by a serial child a serial child molester. Why the President of PSU and Coach Paterno still have jobs at the University
is beyond me.

Big names in sports tend to get free passes just like Hollywood celebs.

The media wants access to people in each industry and to report on them means they're access will get cut off.

I'd wager, that many coaches cover up things their players and other coaches do.

If Sandusky is a serial pedophile, I wonder what Joe Pa knew, and when he knew it. If he helped cover up for Coach Sandusky, he should be fired ASAP.

If true, the very idea that Coach Sandusky used his charity to get access to young boys is nauseating.

7. None of the local media here have this story

They are reporting one additional victim came forward.

Joe informed his superiors of the accusations. That's all he was required to do. All he had was second or third hand information. Its not established that Joe knew the extent of the incident.

He should have done more, but many people in his situation leave the problems up to those who are responsible for handling them. Sandusky was retired by the time Joe learned anything, so Joe couldn't have fired him.

11. Imagine what it's been like for these victims to have heard these guys praised all their lives.

And knowing that they were probably not going to be believed and watch them get all that funding and being media darlings.

How many of them had to hide the truth to be able to function in such a society in safety, but treated as if they didn't exist at all, nothing but outcasts in a way.
