Sunni leader warns of nationwide uprising if Fallujah is hit
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20040423/wl_mideast_afp/iraq_us_fallujah_sunni&cid=1514&ncid=1480

BAGHDAD (AFP) - A Sunni Muslim leader warned that the US-led coalition would face an uprising throughout Iraq (news - web sites) if its forces attack the flashpoint city of Fallujah, which has been besieged by US marines since April 5.

"I have an urgent message for US forces. You have overstepped the red line. Make sure you do not strike Fallujah again," Sheikh Ahmad Abdel Ghafur Samarrai said during Friday prayers at a Baghdad mosque.

"We will not allow the shedding of Iraqi blood. If you strike again, the whole of Iraq, from north to south, from east to west, will become Fallujah," the Sunni cleric said. snip

"I warn you against a new massacre of the population in Fallujah or against any other Iraqi city," he added, noting that Iraqis "can no longer tolerate more bloodshed."

1. As we said, Bush is really a uniter. Will we drown in the blood of
innocents?

3. We already have. George Carlin says we have murdered
190 million civilians in the last 50 years. Go America! Hoist a flag today!

There's only 25 million in Iraq, so anything Bush does won't bring the total up too much.

2. Iraq is about to explode in Bush's face
The neocons will see this as a challenge and go ahead and attack Fallujah anyway.

What happened to America's overwhelming power? What happened to America's ability to dominate the world militarily? What happened to America's ability to impose its will anywhere America feels like it? According to PNAC we are the only super-power left and should act like it. What happened, George W Bush? Why are you sending our kids to die in a war we can never hope to win?

4. This all boils down to what the actual reality is.
If Bush doesn't have to worry about retaining the presidency, then it makes no difference how much blood is shed or how many troops die. Staying in Iraq is the only desire he has. If he can remain in Iraq, then he wins - blood-shed and destruction are simply the price of doing business.

If Bush is really running for president in a fair election, then he has problems with the death and destruction thing. If our institutions are still operative, then he has to make this Iraq nightmare turn around in the next few months or he loses.

If the 2000 coup is permanent, then all he has to do is pay lip-service to outdated ideals and keep a workable facade in place - then just do whatever it is he wants to. You have to look at models like Nazi Germany or Ancient Rome for clues to what would be acceptable means and ends. Sure it's terrible to lose a whole regiment in battle, or a legion, but that doesn't mean that the Emperor (or Feurer) has to change his plans or re-evaluate his goals - that's only a limitation for a democratic leader.

5. When will the neonazicons accept the limits on using the "rule of force"?
Never.

Why?

Because they are imbalanced, one-sided, one-dimensional, shallow ideologues.

So, they will never get it. They will continue to pour destruction on people until the people rise up and fight against the "rule of force". The neonazicons' one-size-fits-all "rule of force" lends toward creating and growing even more violence,...and they just don't freakin' get that!!!
