A Brooklyn Hasidic man will soon be shipped back from Israel to answer charges that he beat up a police officer’s son in a racially motivated attack.

A Jerusalem court Thursday approved the extradition of Yitzhak Shuchat, 28, who’s been indicted for assault as a hate crime and other counts for the alleged baton beatdown of Andrew Charles in 2008.

The elder Charles, an NYPD officer, has railed against Shuchat’s hiding in plain sight in Israel.

Shuchat, who was a member of the Shmira civilian patrol, is accused of using a wooden stick to pummel Charles, a black man who was 20 then, in Crown Heights.

I'm rather tired of people skipping to Israel or Mexico or wherever to avoid prosecution for crimes committed here.

2. I don't get this

In 1997 Samuel Sheinbein, a Maryland teenager, killed, dismembered, burned and stashed in an Aspen Hill, MD garage, the body of 19-year old Alfredo Enrique Tello. About to be caught, his father - a lawyer! - got him on a plane to Israel before he was arrested where he knew that there was to be no extradition and no death penalty. The father soon joined him.

The father was right. Israel's high court said he was an Israeli citizen and immune from extradition.

The Maryland state attorney went batshit over this, and so did Congress.

And then there is this shithead - LA Time, Feb 1998: "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also issued a statement on Thursday, saying he expected that "an enlightened state of law" like the United States would accept the ruling of a supreme court "known as independent and apolitical."

Hey, Bibi. Bite me.

So why this guy and not Sheinbein....?

If anything, what they are devoted to is avoiding military service, which isn't the same thing.
