Cain says God persuaded him to run for president
Source: USA Today

ATLANTA (AP) – Republican Herman Cain said God convinced him to enter the race for president, comparing himself to Moses: "'You've got the wrong man,
Lord. Are you sure?'"

The Georgia business executive played up his faith Saturday after battling sexual harassment allegations for two weeks, trying to shift the conversation to religion, an
issue vital to conservative Republicans, especially in the South.

In a speech Saturday to a national meeting of young Republicans, Cain said the Lord persuaded him after much prayer.

"That's when I prayed and prayed and prayed. I'm a man of faith — I had to do a lot of praying for this one, more praying than I've ever done before in my life," Cain said. "And
when I finally realized that it was God saying that this is what I needed to do, I was like Moses. 'You've got the wrong man, Lord. Are you sure?'"

Because everyone already knows that Bichelle Machman got the nod from dog some weeks ago. I think what happened is that McCain heard the j man whisper in his ear, only he thought it was dog. Then dog and the j man got into it big time up stairs with the result being that horrific storm that slammed into Wasilla. And I know from what I speak because I have it on good authority from pat that I am destined to become the next VP of the 700 club. I just need to work a little more on my intellectual drawl.

60. The media shills who moderate the debates anymore would never ask that question of either Party.
Edited on Sat Nov-12-11 11:18 PM by No Elephants
The debates are a joke now that the Republican and Democratic bi-partisan committee on Presidential debates makes all the rules.

P.S. If a moderator did ask both sets of candidates, how do you think Democrats would respond? Hint: Obama announced his candidacy for the Senate in churches, with Wright at his side---and Bill Clinton said that, after 2006, in response to a question about why Kerry hadn't been successful in 2004.

And the DLC has been suggesting that Democratic candidates not be shy about their religion.

Yet another way the DLC strives to make Democrats indistinguishable from Republicans.

Couple of questions.
1) How does God have time to tell all the republicans he wants them to run?
2) If he told them all, he must have lied to one or two, so who does he endorse?
3) Does he tell Herman to run before or after all the college football games he chooses winners to?
4) When will God endorse a democrat?
5) Why would any person seriously say that God told them to do anything?
6) Does God ever come out and tell any candidate NOT to run?

59. Dummya handled it better.
He went on religious TV shows and said that he thought he was supposed to run for the Presidency.

If you hang around Pentecostals and the like, you know that is code for "God told me to run for the Presidency." But, if you don't, it sounds mundane. In either case, it doesn't make anywhere near as good a sound bite.

BTW, if I had not seen Dummy on Trinity, I would never have known he was announcing his candidacy on Christian television. Once again, mass media let us down.

77. Remember, W was another "god"-sponsored candidate -- !!!
Right -- W said "god" told him to attack Afghanistan --

and later to attack Iraq!

Many on the right allegedly believed W was sent by "god" --

W also referred to the war as a "Crusade" -- !!

As some have said -- when fascism comes to America it will come

"waving the flag and a Bible" -- !!

YIKES!

80. Hmm, so he had to pray a lot -
I wonder if those prayers were along the lines of: HC: "Please God, I wanna be president. Please let me run." God: "No Herman, bloom where you are planted." HC: "Pretty please. Pretty please with extra sauce and cheese on top?" God: "Oh, ok, go ahead. But make sure that I get some bread sticks too."
