TORONTO — The notorious hacker group Anonymous is threatening to have the City of Toronto “removed from the Internet” if city officials move forward with plans to evict the Occupy Toronto camp.

“The brave citizens of Toronto are peaceful and well mannered occupiers, and we will not let the city . . . get involved,” says a computerized voice in a Saturday video by the group. Anonymous has previously stated it would ignore the Occupy Canada movement unless it saw an “interruption” to the protests.

Regardless, spokespeople with the office of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford say they will continue to push ahead with plans to bring the protest to a “peaceful conclusion.”

Meanwhile the City of Saskatoon was preparing to evict the Occupy Saskatoon tenters at Gabriel Dumont Park on Monday.

2. That is real helpful--NOT.
We're gonna fuck with your computers if you don't let us camp in the park!

That really advances the causes of social justice and economic parity.

What would people say if the Tea Party threatened to take down NYC's government web site if they didn't close all abortion clinics in the city?

The more they pull these stunts, the further away they get from the real issues.

6. Your complete lack of support for all things "Occupy" is duly noted.
Thank you for your concern.

Some of us here have functional radar.

9. Your inability to read is duly noted. You're one of the one percent
who can read what people write about a topic, and willfully ignore it. That's on you, though. Be proud of that blind spot--you certainly show it off enough.

Thank YOU for YOUR concern. Pat yourself on the back, you've earned the Hall Monitor of The Day award....again!

11. Which ones had any effect, though? The "Shut down the NYSE" one was just
a dud. The way they talked it up, it sounded like "Oooooh, we're gonna shut down the floor of the STOCK exchange, maaan!" All they did was fart on the cover page where the workings of the place was explained, and that was cleaned up faster than cat puke.

If they did the PLAYSTATION one, as some claim, that was about the only hack that went anywhere that I remember--and that was flat-out criminal, shameful, and nothing that 99 percent of us should want to be associated with at all. The people who did that one stole credit card numbers and personal data--who wants to be link with thieves who take from schmucks who like to play video games? Talk about stupid and low. If there are others that they've done, that have had any effect to advance the OWS issues, I'd love to hear about them--they haven't gotten any publicity that has reached me.

I don't see what shutting down a city website has to do with social justice or economic parity. All it does is fuck people who need city services. Hey, you, lady, who just got beat up by her husband--I know you want to look up the number for a women's shelter, but the website is down because some asshole in a Warner Brother's copyrighted mask shut the page down!

Yeah, way to "help" the 99 percent! Idiots!

13. Dumb move. This simply plays into the hands of the 1% who want to frame
OWS as anarchists. Better for the OWS to close camp then set it back up in a couple of weeks.

14. Now I know why they are "Anonymous"
Because they are a JOKE! They get lucky sometimes & a website goes down for an few hours...So, viewing Anonymous as a threat is absurd maybe a short term headache but that is about all they are.

Heard anyone talk about the debt lately? No, they're not a joke.
