2. When I hear idiots say things like that
It is really hard not to go out and do some target practice with their face in my mind.
Then again, Issa is a convicted criminal. I don't think he really paid for his crime. It might be time to put a hitch in his giddup from one in the hip.

3. "We need laws for the poor who rip off the rich with their 'social safety net.'"
Issa is such a toad.

5. We don't. We need laws that apply to EVERYONE,
and are fair for everyone, and we don't have that now.

7. I think he needs a pass on this one - it's 'for' as in 'of the people, by the people, for the people
Full quote:

"We in government don't need a constitution for the powerful, we don't need laws for the powerful. We need a constitution and laws for the weak. Ultimately the success of our democracy is about the minority having rights, not the majority".

14. I agree about him being a douchebag
but I think the meaning of this quote is clear, and OK, in context.

21. Context, eh
I really really hate to give this scumbag a pass on anything, so I will go with: those jumping on this are wrong in how you judge what he is saying. Its still stupid, but not for the reasons you take his words out of context to indicate. We need constitution and laws for everyone, majority as well as minority, as both are protected by their proper enforcement.

Clearly, as a republican, he is all about protecting certain minorities (the extremely rich, white males) from majorities such as "women" and "the working class". But they leave out any minorities not in their preferred bubble, so at the very best this would be rank hypocrisy. At worst, uneducated. Either way, no pass, just not as immediately egregious as the snipped small quote would indicate.

9. The Reponazi keep telling us exactly what they are.
When are the majority of Americans going to believe what they tell us?

They have no sense of humor, so they are not joking.

10. Granted, that's indeed what he's saying ... but we need TEXT on full statement....
No matter how loud I make it, it still seems unclear as to ALL he was saying.

Thanks --

16. Just called Issa's office
The poor lady answering his phone said "oh, that doesn't sound like something he would say"... I said the video is posted on YouTube and being that I am in Issa's district and can vote for or against him, I am shocked at his arrogance. I advised her to check YouTube herself; in the mean time I'll be busy letting my neighbors know how Issa feels about the people that are not "powerful".

This guy is an arrogant, selfish, wanna-be powerful man. I wonder if he feels he is in the 1%...

20. Completely misreported - was it intentional? Like Issa or not he
clearly was saying that laws are needed to protect the weak from the powerful - not that the powerful don't need to follow the law. Who disagrees with that?
