Mayor Lee tours Occupy SF camp, is 'disappointed'
Source: SF Chronicle

Mayor Ed Lee made his first visit to the Occupy SF encampments at Justin Herman Plaza across the street from the Ferry Building and on Market Street in the Financial District Tuesday and left "disappointed" with what he saw.

"They have increased the camp presence, and I think the level of cleanliness has decreased," he said.

The mayor said he also is concerned about health risks, both to people and their pets.

The SPCA reported three cases of dogs from the Occupy SF encampment infected with parvovirus, a highly contagious and often fatal disease. There also have been signs of kennel cough and Giardia, and reports of a flea infestation.

2. Sounds like he's trying to justify a crackdown
Hope OWS San Francisco has aggressive plans to protect themselves and fight back, especially in the courts. Sounds like SF might be the OWS city to do it.

4. Ed Lee's a fucking tool.
I cannot belivee my town got stuck with this asshat as Mayor. He had all but pulled the trigger on removal once -- I have no doubt he will do it now that the election is over.

5. We had a neighbor that had 8 children and a husband who did little
to help with them. Her house was always cluttered with toys, newly folded laundry and both clean and dirty dishes. My father used to remind anyone who complained about her that they should try to take care of 8 children and keep everything clean. Also he would tell them - look closely - the kids are playing with the toys, the laundry is clean just not put away, the clean dishes are in the drainer and the dirty dishes are waiting to be washed. In other words it is clutter - not filth.

I suspect that camps are cluttered. Years later as a social worker who went into homes I learned to see what my father was talking about. I met many a good parent who just had some clutter and very happy children.

These mayors are too fussy.
