Herman Cain: 'I'm Not Supposed To Know Anything About Foreign Policy'
Source: Huff Po

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain defended his foreign policy knowledge following a disastrous editorial board interview where he struggled to answer a question on Libya.

"I'm not supposed to know anything about foreign policy. Just thought I'd throw that out," he said to a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reporter while on his campaign bus on Monday, the afternoon after his interview with the paper's editorial board.

......

Cain has made multiple foreign policy gaffes during his campaign. When asked whether he was ready for "gotcha" questions in early October, he said, "When they ask me who is the president of Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan I'm going to say you know, I don't know. Do you know?" After the exchange, his campaign came up with a list of twenty foreign leaders for him to commit to memory.

Interesting. Let's look what the Constitution says about the President and foreign policy. You remember the Constitution. It's the thing the Republicans always scream about every time someone actually tries to enforce it.

Article 2 Section II

The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion.....He shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors...

Article 2 Section III

He shall receive ambassadors and other public ministers; he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of the United States.

Does he think the US is merely a big corporation. His denseness is astounding. To actually say that out loud. Our new Sarah Palin.

13. Give him a pizza.
Then charge him that pizza.

We have embraced the chance to show that America values the dignity of the street vendor in Tunisia more than the raw power of the dictator ... ?

25. I don't think they care about him
They want to put him as a front runner so that they can claim that they're not a racist party. They tried doing that in the 80's and 90's by using the Asians to shoot down Affirmative Action, and claiming they "weren't racist".

Unfortunately for them, we educated and intelligent people see right through that. Putting up a token person of a certain race doesn't mean you'er not racist, especially if it's obvious you're trying to play the race card.

12. Im afraid
this might actually work for him because in the US we so hate anyone that is intelligent. They are elitists and think they are better than you. The only thing you should be doing in school (both high school and college) is focusing on the next foosball game.

16. Are Republicans devolving?
Reagan was dumb.
Quayle was dumber than Reagan.
Chimpy was dumber than Quayle.
Palin was dumber than Chimpy.

And now the current crop of GOP presidential goofballs are starting to make Palin look smart.

Gerald Ford wasn't a very smart man but he was an intellectual giant compared to these guys.

I hope we've finally hit rock bottom because it's hard to imagine anyone dumber than Perry, Cain, and Bachmann.

....and obviously you don't know anything about foreign policy. Dear Mr. Stick, it's time to return to making pizzas and maybe try again in four years after taking a few night school refresher courses....and don't let anyone see you fondle anything along the way.

Seriously, someone should do an act of kindness to this man and get him the hell off the public stage. It's pitiful anymore.

29. Uh, 'scuse me, Hermie,
we already had a previous president who was incurious, didn't know anything about foreign policy, presided over 9/11 after he ignored warnings, presided over the 2nd Great Depression beginning, and let people drown in N.O. after being warned about the levees being breeched. I think we've already had one too many of those "presidents". :eyes:

31. This reminds me of that song by Sam Cooke...
Wonderful World (Don't Know Much)
Sam Cooke

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about a science book
Don't know much about the French I took
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you love me too
What a wonderful world this would be

Don't know much about geography
Don't know much trigonometry
Don't know much about algebra
Don't know what a slide rule is for
But I do know one and one is two
And if this one could be with you
What a wonderful world this would be

Now, I don't claim to be an "A" student
But I'm trying to be
For maybe by being an "A" student baby
I can win your love for me
