Loudly Protesting Park Eviction, if Not Outside Mayor’s Window as Planned (NYC)
Source: NYT

The sounds of snare drums, bongo drums and bucket drums, a familiar and frequent annoyance to those who live near Zuccotti Park, moved uptown on Sunday to the East Side home of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

Well, not exactly.

The intention of the Occupy Wall Street protesters was to stage a 24-hour circle of drums in front of the mayor’s town house on East 79th Street. But the protesters were blocked at each corner by a line of police officers and metal barricades.

The police not only kept the drummers away; they also restricted access to all except those who lived on Mr. Bloomberg’s block.

2. I have been told by political activists in Dubuque that if you try
to leaflet certain blocks where the high society lives you will be warned away by the police politely and firmly. The 1% are protected by the Polizei everywhere.

Protesters had a right to protest but not impede others in the city or be in the line of sight of those who didn't want to see them or make noise where others might not want to hear them. So basically one can protest as long as they remain out of the way, out of sight and quiet.

Yeah and she was serious.

6. You've got to wonder...
...about those that fear humanity, find them icky, too ugly to look at...

Have they lost so much of their own humanity that they can no longer recognize it in others?
