N.Korea Says 6-Way Talks to Open Soon in Beijing

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said Monday it expected six-country talks over its nuclear arms program to be held soon in Beijing and would show whether Washington was prepared to change its attitude toward the communist state.

"Six-party talks for a solution to the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. will be held in Beijing soon thanks to the former's initiative and peaceful efforts," said a statement issued by a spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry.

"As the multilateral talks are slated to take place as called for by the U.S. side so far, the forthcoming talks will clearly show the world community whether the U.S. has a true willingness to make a switchover in its policy toward the DPRK or not," said the statement, carried on the North's official KCNA news agency.

The North Korean spokesman said a U.S. policy change away from what Pyongyang views as hostility to its communist government was essential for resolving the nuclear crisis.

1. six-country - GOD Bless PR - it is one on one with US, - PLUS 6 country
Amazing how the US Media is forbidden to note that we caved to North Korea's demand for one on one meetings, and indeed have agreed to one on one meetings with North Korea,

albeit concurrent with 6 country talks.

I am amazed how US media runs in lock step to Bush PR memos.

Is it only in Canada and the EU that a US citizen can get the "total" US news?

It sure seems that way.

2. Yes Papau the US Media is pretty buttoned up here in the States
pretty much what we have here is war rallying, the news has to always buttress the facade that the US General's are calling the shots and we mean not to cow tow to any evildoers. What I mean to say is, it just doesn't seem that way, it is that way.
